Please, No one night stays or pets. Situated on one of Bucks County's most fabled properties in the historic hamlet of Philips Mill and just 1 & 1/2 miles from downtown New Hope, Pa. sits our private little English village property which we call 'The Gothic English Village'. Renowned Architect, Painter, Iron worker, and Wood worker, Morgan Colt built this extraordinary little English village at the turn of the century (1900) to be his residence. There are many great restaurants, art galleries, antiques stores and live music. In Stockton there is an 'indoor' farmers market which is open on weekends all year. New Hope is a famous river town that dates back before the revolution. For over 100 years, New Hope has been a well known art community. Another main attraction is the local 'Bucks County Playhouse which was home-away-from-home to many of Hollywood's greatest stars in the 1940's and 1950's many of whom later made New Hope their permanent home. Note: PLEASE don't inquire about one night stays or pets. Other Activities: If you like shopping, then you'll love New Hope, Pa. Located just a 5 minutes down the road is Peddler's Village. It was originally built to look like a Colonial village with 80 unique quaint little shops dotted along the meandering herringbone brick walkways. All throughout the shopping village are beautiful gardens with waterfall fountains and koi ponds. Great restaurants there too... and if that isn't enough, you also have all the outlet stores just across the street! Also right nearby are two great flea markets for those who like to get up early on Tuesday or Saturday mornings to get the good stuff :-)We also have 8 wineries that give tours, one great art museum (Michener Art Museum) and two other museums which are castles: Font Hill Museum and Mercer Museum. In addition to everything else, we have all kinds of historic tours you can take, boat rides on the river, a train ride on an old steam engine that takes you through the heart of Bucks County OR you can watch a local polo match...

Check this out!!
My wife and I had a great time seeing the sites at New Hope and Peddlers Village. Kurt was a phenomenal host, not only showing us around the grounds, but giving a detailed history lesson. We will definitely stay here again in the future, it’s quite a remarkable experience!!

5 Stars All Around
Kurt and Eleanor were absolutely amazing hosts! One of our best stays through TripAdvisor yet. They were very accommodating and quick to answer any questions we had. They were even so kind as to invite us over for drinks to hear more about the history of the property and their family. We will definitely be back. This is one you don’t want to miss if you’re taking a trip to New Hope!

Adorable!
Great place if you are looking to get away from it all! Eleanor and Kurt were so hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and the history. Fantastic artist colony that is away from the hustle and bustle of New Hope traffic. Beautiful architecture and adorable space. We walked into town using the nearby towpath quite easily. We enjoyed the Saturday shopping, eating and sipping cocktails in New Hope. It is a nice cottage that is worth the trip. We are planning on returning in the future. A+

A Magical Stay in an English Cottage
We loved our holiday in the romantic Gothic Cottage in New Hope! Mrs. Miller welcomed us graciously to her idyllic property, a turn-of-the-20th century art colony envisioned and built by the noted architect, craftsman, and Impressionist painter, Morgan Colt. Our fully-appointed cottage had served as the colony's blacksmith studio. We loved sitting in the garden, walking along the nearby Delaware River tow path, and enjoying 2021's Autumn Equinox under a starlit sky.

Enchanting!
My husband and I had a lovely time in this enchanting, quaint town of New Hope. There’s so much to do and discover and we left inspired and excited for another visit. Kurt and Eleanor were gracious hosts and the cottage is nestled away in a magical, storybook setting. The restaurant next door and exploring the pathway by the canal is MUST-DO! Thank you Kurt and Eleanor for a great, memorable weekend get-away!

Trip Back In Time
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was extremely cozy and very comfortable. The owner and her son were very gracious and told us the history of the village. It was quaint and charming and so interesting to hear about. We had a wonderful weekend enjoying the nearby shops and restaurants. Would love to visit again.

Amazing
Such a beautiful relaxing place! The cottages and the little village are quaint and adorable. The multiple sitting areas in the garden allow you to enjoy new spots each time you go outside. The proximity to the Inn at Phillips Mill (a must go!) Is fantastic as is the proximity to the tow path ( 1 mile walk to New Hope -slightly longer to Stockton). The cottage itself is perfect for two parents looking for a weekend away. Two rooms, small kitchen and bathroom. Comfortable bed and couch. Plenty of books to read, if only we had the time. Such a great place to come and just get away from it all for a while.

Terrific weekend away at an English cottage!
Loved, loved, loved our stay at the English cottage in New Hope. Thanks to Eleanor and Kurt for the perfect getaway. Steps from the tow path, set in beautiful gardens and a short drive from New Hope....the gothic cottage was a treat. It felt like we were in England in the 1800s!

what a wonderful stay, not to be forgotten!
Three days in this charming , cozy cottage, right by the canal .Each day we walked (or can bike) about one mile into New Hope on this historical canal next to the Delaware River. The cottages have both artistic and historical significance. And the hosts were most gracious. Next to our cottage was a beautiful inn with great food and a very large fireplace. For the budget minded the inn and many restaurants in New Hope are BYOB.
