A home away from home
This place is home away from home, a holiday rental not intended for short stays. We stayed in this lovely 2 bed furnished house with towel and bed service. The kitchen is well stocked with everything but the food. The internet is dependable with speeds about 10 MBps. There's no smoking inside, but there's a covered deck, bring your own ashtray. It's a self-catering cottage so you're expected to clean up after yourself, as you would at home. There's a washing mashine, brand new bathroom, and the kitchen/diner is due to be renovated (I was told.) The views are spectacular, the wildlife's abundant, and there were friendly horses in the field behind. We even met a wild blue budgie. The cottage had a firm double bed in one room and 2 singles in the other. There's a secure deck, perfect to watch the night sky or enjoy the lovely days. The place backs up to a fast road. It's really busy at the rush hours, but was quiet overnight and barely noticeable during the day. On weekends the traffic was more steady, but still quiet at night. I thought noise would be an issue, but it wasn't. I slept with the windows wide open. The road surface is a quiet one and the cars woosh by quickly. If you want a romantic getaway, or a week-long family reunion, this place would be ideal. The owner was lovely, and I heard nothing but compliments from the other tenants. There's a lot of repeat business here for a reason. We stayed for a month and felt at home and comfortable. It's very good value for money. Don't let the road put you off. This place is full of pleasant surprises and it's very well located for visitors who want to explore the area.

Ideal and a great location
Just what we wanted! In these challenging times, we felt safe and comfortable from the moment we arrived, and the cottage had everything we needed. Weather was kind, and we made the most of the decking where we had most of our meals. The helpful suggestions for local walks were well used, and the walks over to Spye Park and to Bromham were a real delight. Very convenient for Devizes, Melksham and Chippenham. Thanks for everything!

Comfortable peaceful relaxing stay
Lovely country cottage in Westbrook near Bromham close to Melksham. There was a pub with in 5 minutes walk the Westbrook inn. Was also lovely pub with lots of offers each night and great prices just a 6 minute drive in East Melksham called Water Meadow. The cottage was very clean and spacious. It was so peaceful and private, as you can sit on the veranda which opens off the living room and look over private fields with lovely views. Lovely big kitchen with dining area Overlooking the country views. Owners very helpful, and on hand if you need any help. The cottage is a bungalow all on one level, so ideal for elderly or infirm. Cottage is situated on a country lane. Cars are frequently speeding along, and can be heard from inside. Didn’t bother us so much. Very pleased overall with our stay. Good location to get an out and visit the surrounding sights, such as Lacock where lots of period dramas are filmed, and Lacock abbey. Also close by is Castle Combe, a beautiful picturesque village. A definite stop is Bradford On Avon for a boatmans breakfast down by the canal. Beautiful cafe where you can eat on the terrace watching the canal boats go by. Lovely area with plenty to do and see. Longleat safari park is not too far away, and Center Parcs. Not too far from the city of Bath. .

Pleased you enjoyed your stay, there is no damp in the property, the problem can relate to the triple glazing and lack of air flow, opening the windows will help.
