The main floor features a custom kitchen, hardwood floors, a stone floor-to-ceiling, remote controlled gas fireplace, arched windows and a bedroom with a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV and DVD player. A private rear deck stretches the length of the home and overlooks the mountain stream. The rear deck also features both a charcoal grill & a gas grill.
The loft, with its king-sized Amish-made bed, plus full-sized futon, features its own full bathroom with Jacuzzi tub!
The lower level features 2 bedrooms (1 queen & 1 full, both Amish-made), 1 bath, full-size washer & dryer, and lounge area with 55' TV, DVD and Wii gaming system, a wide selection of books and board games, plus a remote controlled electric stove for chilly nights.

Peaceful and serene
The sanctuary is well worth the stay. We were looking for a getaway in that area, and this fit the bill. Clean, comfortable and cool. It is the last private drive on the road next to Brushy Creek Forest.
Plenty of supplies for, kitchen, campfire, and just lounging around . And plenty of parking.
Nestled in trees, but enough sun in the right places.
One wish that would make it better: need faster unlimited wifi,so we could watch netfkix and others. Also Tv remotes need fixed, never could watch much tv.

Glad you loved our place; it is so peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately, there is no option for unlimited wifi there...welcome to the country. Check emails, browse, then go outside and enjoy the nature. We wish you had called us and we could have told you where the extra batteries are for the remotes. Thank you for letting us know; those will be replaced today. We hope you come back in the future. The sign 'Welcome to The Sanctuary' at the front gate could not be truer.
We rented 'The Sanctuary' because we had family visiting the area and could not accommodate them at our house.
The cabin afforded plenty of room for everyone to spread out and the setting of quiet woods, bird song and babbling brook was a real balm to our 'city' kids. Because everything they could possibly need was at the house they could relax and enjoy their visit and they said they actually felt rested and renewed at the end of the long weekend - even with a busy 5 yr old running around.
The fire pits were favorite places to pull up a chair in the evening and over a glass of wine reminisce, and our grandson tasted his first marshmallow toasted over a real open fire - the look on his face alone was worth the stay.
We think 'The Sanctuary' not only solved our space problems but it will also mean the family is coming to visit a whole lot more often - and that is a very good thing. Thank you Giles'.

Perfect place!
I recently booked the Sanctuary for a staff retreat, and it was perfect! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and full of everything we could need. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were extremely comfortable, the place smelled amazing, and was decorated to make us feel right at home. We loved being out in the woods and the view was amazing! There was enough space for us to all meet together as well as space to get away and be alone individually. The owners were available for questions we had about how to work the fireplace and were gracious with extending our departure time - overall they were very flexible and friendly! I would definitely stay here again, and plan to in the future! I highly recommend it!!

Nowhere will you find finer owners or a nicer place to stay.
I forgot just how much you accommodate our every needs.! Your home is beautiful the forest is stunning. Lee and Debbie are very spectacular people. Not only are they furnished this house with everything but they are caring people. I have stayed several times. Will be back again soon.

Best place ever
We were so impressed with everything, even when we suggested a new flat screen for the kitchen and a few upgrades, they listen, which proves they really care!! We never want to leave and it's amazing for family get togethers. Lee and Debbie are two beautiful, generous, amazing gems. Thanks for a wonderful place to get some peace and quiet from our three ring circus lives!! Will definitely come back.

A group of us just stayed at the sanctuary this past weekend and it was wonderful. From pulling up to the beautiful home and seeing the wonderful surrounding, how well stocked the house was we didn't need to go out for anything. Its so calming and peaceful from the back deck with the lovely Crete and the sound of the water to the peacefulness and fun that was enjoyed by the entire group. We all felt like we wish we were still there and plan on going back next year. I have to say this is one of my most favorite places that we have been to. Very impressive!

I never wanted to leave!!!!!
Four couples rented this beautiful house for our first marriage retreat. I feel in love immediately. As soon as you walked into the house, you felt the warmth and love that has been put into this place. It was super, super clean. We were told that we only needed to bring food and drink and it was so true. The owner's Deb and Lee has placed so much time in making sure this place had everything!!!!!! We booked for two nights, by the start of the second day we knew that we would come back again and again. Everything was so neat. I'm so happy with staying here and I can not wait to return!!!!!

The Sanctuary was just what my family needed. My husband and I brought along both of our mothers and siblings and our children. It brought us all closer. Two years later and we are still talking about this trip. We enjoyed to beautiful fire pit. Of course we did s'mores. Woke up and enjoyed a nice morning hike. The front porch is every coffee drinkers dream. It was so nice to sit out and just listen to early morning nature. We enjoyed use of the fully equipped kitchen. Everyone was comfortable sleeping or just hanging in the house watching TV or playing games. Nothing but smiles the entire time. We are planning to return 2016. Thank you!!!

Mother/Daughter Weekend 2015
This is our 2nd stay at this beautiful place. It is such a great fit for us. Plenty of space to move around, plenty of beds to sleep in. This year we even got to enjoy the fireplace. The place is so inviting, you feel like you are at home. Debbie the owner, allowed us early arrival and is so easy to work with. My group of ladies already said they want to stay here again next year !! Thank you for a great weekend !!

Just a short drive leads you to Miller's Amish Market. Homemade doughnuts and mouth-watering turnovers and other sweet treats await you. Enjoy them there or bring some back with you. Or, you may prefer to visit world-famous Serpent Mound or Ft. Hill Indian Earth Works, don't forget the Barn Quilt trail, and the covered bridges,then head back to your home in the hardwoods and relax on the front porch. Or stay indoors and do nothing!
Also nearby, you can enjoy boating and fishing at Rocky Fork Lake and Paint Creek State Park. Explore caves at Highlands Nature Center, then have dinner at Moyer's Winery overlooking the Ohio river.
Long's Retreat offers a beach, swimming, paddle-boats, canoeing, water slides, game room, horseshoes - major family fun, at a very low cost!
COOL waters await at Mineral Springs Resort all summer long. Fish, swim, relax. Call for details. Close by is Davis Memorial Forest Nature Preserve, home of the Ohio beaver and complete with nature trails.
