The Cabin on the Hill was so relaxing and everything was perfect the view from the front porch is amazing. The setup of the cabin is both unique and just perfect. The hot tub was just what I needed to relax and unwind. All the beds were so comfortable , along with the furniture. My grandson had so much fun fishing at Lances Pond they even provide fishing poles. It is definitely a place we will visit again in the future and might rent the Cabin by the Pond next time just to get the experience of staying at both cabins they have available. The hosts are very accommodating and friendly, you won’t regret your stay at Laurel Springs Farms. It’s secluded which was one of the big reasons I booked a stay there, yet if you need to go to a grocery store or a restaurant they are just a few miles away. If you experience any issues don’t hesitate to contact the owners as they are very responsive and it is their main goal to make a guest feel welcome and happy with their stay at their amazing and breathtaking farm and cabin rental location. Can’t wait to stay again sometime in the future and might do it during another season. We stayed for 3 nights and wish I had booked a longer visit. Just wish I had taken more photos of the inside of the cabin but did manage to take a couple of the wrap around porch.

Loved the cutest most comfortable cabin!
This cabin was great. The beds were so very comfortable. The furniture both inside and out werre so cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a relaxing vacation. The service was great. We loved the quiet serene location. The cabin was so so cute. We chose the loft to sleep in because it was so quaint. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. We loved our stay and would definitely come back again.
Only caviat is that this place is not suited for someone who has a hard time getting around or for little children. Perfect for anyone else.
If you stay here climb the mountain behind the cabin and watch the sunset or lie on the porch and stare at the night sky. It is an experience you won't forget.

Good things and not so good things
Good things:
- hot tub was great and the water was just the right temperature on a cold day
- the raspberry muffins were a nice welcome
- thankful for the DVD player and movie selection
- cabin had a great view and very private.
- beds were clean and comfortable
- about 10-15 min away from most hocking hills parks
- the hiking trail on the property was really nice
- board games in the house were great especially the bingo ball roller.
- glad that they had a charcoal grill outside
Not so good things:
- the country spring water on tap is the color of urine. It may have been safe to use but the deep yellow color was very off putting. Highly recommended that you bring drinking water for all your needs outside of bathing.
- the hot water was inconsistent. At times it was scalding hot and other times super cold. Hard to know what you’d get.
- WiFi never worked once while we were there. The router couldn’t access the internet. Didn’t make a fuss about it since it kept us off our phones but would have been nice to watch Netflix or check email.
- the access to the loft is by ladder. Not safe for children and not convenient if you have large luggage. The downstairs to the basement were just as treacherous. There was a gate though which is good for preventing young children from falling down.
- small thing, but the range vent above the stove didn’t work so when you cooked the smoke filled the cabin.
- there was only one small trash can outside so after a couple days it was overflowing. Would have been nice to have bigger receptacles for trash bags.
- also would have been nice to have a real fireplace instead of the fake electric ones but this is just a very minor complaint.
- the kitchen has a mini fridge so it was hard to fit our groceries in. There’s a full fridge in basement but the treacherous steps made it inconvenient to use.
Overall, we had a great time and think the hosts are great. Just think the place could use some improvements to receive a higher rating.

I wish you would have contacted us during your visit because most of these things would have been resolved immediately. The oven hood vent was tripped and just needed to hit the reset button (safety feature). Water - wish we had known it had gone so wrong during your visit because we could have diverted fresh water - turns out there was a leak that we had to repair in the spring tank once we became aware. We do state in the advertising that the stairs are steep and the fireplaces are electric. We try to be as detailed as possible in advertising and do request that guests contact us to report issues during their visit so we can attempt to resolve rather than afterwards when it is too late to correct it for your visit. Please give your next host the opportunity to correct issues during your visit should they arise. Thank you for the feedback. Brenda & Eric

Great Cozy Cabin!
The cabin was a great choice, perfect for a group of friends (6 of us went). Old man’s cave was only a 20-minute drive away, which was very convenient. All the amenities were convenient: Cabin was very clean and beds and couches were comfortable. The kitchen was nice and had what we needed and there were baked treats when we came which was a sweet touch. The hot tub was well maintained and the washer and dryer were very helpful and necessary especially after a day of hiking in the snow! We were told WIFI was going to be a little slow, which was true, so we recommend bringing DVDs to watch if there are movies you would like to watch other than the ones at the cabin. Would definitely stay here again and thank you Brenda and Eric for the wonderful stay!

Nice Setting near Hocking Hills parks
This cabin was really nice because of its quaint history and rural setting. The owners added many thoughtful touches from homemade baked goods upon arrival to the local gravel used around the pond and fields. We saw a lot of wildlife by just looking out the window; it was hot this July and the cabin was air conditioned so we didn't hang outside much, but almost every time I looked down off the porch or stood looking out the kitchen door, I saw animals. From the grill, the first hour we were there: three rabbits playing together at length & a hummingbird at the lilies. From the kitchen door: a bobwhite and her baby chicks hopping across the hillside! From the deck: a basking red admiral and a nesting robin. The last night we took a short walk up the hill to the pond and we were sitting on the picnic table and when we looked further up the hill a deer was watching us. This place was a little more than I wanted to pay, it was over $500 for two nights out in the country, which my teens thought was too much but in the end, they had a really good time. My youngest is a painter and she painted watercolor sunsets from the gravel lane. The indoor life was good too and my husband got to share his love of classic film through the excellent DVD collection. It was a meaningful and memorable family place for us.

Beautiful, clean, cozy cabin
We had a marvelous visit to Cabin on the Hill. It is very nice and clean. The beds are quite comfortable. The kitchen was very nice. We cooked several meals there, including breakfast with the farm fresh eggs waiting in the refrigerator when we arrived. There were fresh baked blueberry muffins on the table when we arrived also. We enjoyed walking around the property. My granddaughter loved fishing in the pond. The front porch is wonderful for quiet relaxing mornings. We ate dinner on the back deck at the table under the umbrella. The loft is really cozy and comfortable. The state parks are just a short drive from the cabin, and very they are very beautiful. In addition to hiking and exploring the parks we took a canoe trip, a long peaceful horseback ride, played mini golf, climbed a rope climbing structure, and visited the Mystery Shack during our five day stay. There are also many more activities available in the area. The owners are extremely nice people. They actually purchased a hot tub while we were driving to the cabin because the existing hot tub needed repaired and the parts were being shipped. When we arrived the new tub was in place and ready to use. We loved it! They went out of their way to make sure our visit was perfect. I would recommend this rental to anyone. Thank you Eric and Brenda for making our vacation awesome!

Amazing Honeymoon
From booking, to the completion of our stay, there were no problems. The cabin on the hill is a fantastic getaway. Cozy and quaint, yet open and airy. The hot tub was very well maintained, the entire cabin is in great condition. We cooked meals for an entire week here without any issues, even completed some puzzles, and watched The Buckeye football game. Close to hiking and fishing, golfing and horses. I cannot recommend this cabin highly enough. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks again for making our stay special!
