wilderness. In winter, stay warm by the log fire and enjoy marshmallows on the bonfire! Stay cool in summer at the local swimming holes, or go adventuring through the canyons in the national park.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Wilderness Bunkhouse. We were riding on the Bicentennial Trail. It was raining all day and we were wet through, not looking forward to a camp in the rain. But little did we know that our guy in our support vehicle had shown amazing initiative (for once) and on his way to our proposed camp site met some of the incredibly friendly locals. We were only looking for a paddock for the horses, but Gay offered us the bunkhouse! What a wonderful place and such a godsend at the end of a wet day in the saddle. It was so good we decided to have a rest day there too:). Beautiful bush, lovely places to walk, and a wood fire and comfort to retreat to at the end of the day.

Serenity in Beautiful Surroundings
Three and a bit hours from Sydney and a max 45min from Rylstone and you will travel on some well maintained gravel road last few k's. Go slow over cattle grids and on a couple of steep small hills and its fine.
Arriving at the bunkhouse is a 'WOW' moment as you take in the stunning surroundings. No other properties in view and a sense of being very alone and private. So relaxing. Gay the owner is lovely and will call you and then greet you on arrival and is just 4k's away if needed for anything. The bunkhouse is spotless and top quality with all you need provided. Dunn's Swamp should have been named Dunn's Paradise and is just down the road for kayaking or swimming. We will definitely return and stay longer next time to have a really good look around.

A perfect escape from the city
We stayed at the wilderness bunkhouse in July 2017. Great space for all the family, fully equipped kitchen and best bon fire for toasting marshmallows. It's a great base for bushwalking, bird watching and just being out of the city in truly beautiful surrounds.
Thank you for the freshly made Anzac biscuits, what a great treat.
