Relax with a novel from the bookshelf to the sounds of native birds. The Blue Mountains is a World Heritage listed area comprising sandstone plateaux, escarpments and gorges littered with eucalypt forest. The canyon here is the 2nd largest in the world (the Grand Canyon in the USA is the largest). A short distance down the road from the cottage is the spectacular Evans Head Lookout which gives visitors a fine view of the gorge. Blackheath village a short drive, bus ride (or 30 mins walk) away has gift shops, cafes and restaurants. 5 minutes down the road the Hydro Majestic in Medlow Bath offers more magnificent views. Leura and Katoomba both well known towns in the mountains are also close by for shopping expeditions and walking. Guest Access Guests have access to the whole house, deck and garden. Interaction with Guests We like to let guests explore at their own pace. Happy to answer questions via email/txt. The Neighbourhood Located off Evans Lookout Road between Blackheath Golf Club and Evans Lookout. Quiet rural neighbourhood. Short walk to Blackheath Golf Club. Short drive/bus to Blackheath Village. Blackheath is a small Blue Mountains town with an active local community. There are brochures in the house with ideas for exploring the surrounding attractions. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in Blackheath and the surrounding area. There will be recommendations in the house folder. Getting Around Parking in car port and on street. There is a bus that goes to Katoomba which stops at the end of the road. Other Things to Note Blackheath is often several degrees cooler than Sydney-so please bring some warm clothing. More

This cosy family friendly cottage is a short drive to Blackheath town centre and the many spectacular lookouts over the Blue Mountains. A good base if you had bikes to see the sites from. Lovely wood burning fire warms up the whole house. Great north...More

About the neighbourhood
Blackheath is at the top of the Blue Mountains. My five favourite things about the area. Quiet and peaceful-especially when the mist rolls in in the evening. It is at the top of the mountains so there are lots of stars visible on clear nights. Blackheath village, Katoomba and Leura are all near by. There are lots of artists and creative people living in the area. It is ideal for long walks and hikes with great views.
Getting around
It is best to drive. However you can travel easily by train to the Blue Mountains. You can also get around by bus. There is a bus stop opposite the house. Blackheath village is a 1/2 hour walk from our house.
