Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England
Georgian grade two listed town house, sleeps 10 in 5 en-suite bedrooms. Located within the Elizabethan ramparts in historic Berwick upon Tweed; England's most northerly coastal town, which has changed hands between England and Scotland 13 times. Visit Berwick and discover what was worth fighting for. The town boasts magnificent views over the Northumberland coast. Many walks start from the doorstep, along the preserved town walls, the coastal path to St Abbs, or beside the river, spotting seals by the town's three bridges. Berwick's narrow streets are filled with individual restaurants, pubs, shops and on the outskirts lie the main supermarkets. A five minute walk to The Maltings Art Centre, for cultural theatre, music and films. A short drive will take you to the town's leisure centre with wave pool and flume. Behind the... Read more

Five ensuite bedrooms, good sized sitting room, plenty seating in dining room, small patio and a kitchen. Kitchen is small but has all you need. Don't expect modern luxury...this house is old and comfortable and has a lot of facinating history as do the ramparts...More

It had everything we needed as a family with young grandchildren for a good holiday. Large rooms and comfortable beds. On road parking not always guaranteed but large free carpark only 5 minutes away

About the neighbourhood
Northumberland is an area of great beauty and fascinating history. The house itself is on a street mentioned recently in The Times:“ Located within the Elizabethan town walls and therefore an easy walk into the centre, but also backing onto a golf course and, beyond that, only a couple of minutes' walk to the coast. Barbara Pentecost, of Smiths Gore, admires this quiet, gently sloping street both for its fabulous location and its “glorious” Georgian houses.”
