Both restaurants are very popular and require booking well in advance. The Pheasant will provide breakfast for non-residents if required, although booking is advisable. Attractions and nearby amenities Within walking distance of the cottage are two award winning restaurants The Star Inn and The Pheasant Hotel. Advance booking is essential for these two very popular restaurants. The North York Moors are renowned for the countless walks to be taken through it's beautiful landscape. The market towns of Kirkbymoorside, Pickering, Malton, and Thirsk are all within 20 miles. York can be reached in less than 45 minutes. There is an excellent Park and Ride service from the outskirts of the city of York where you can find a wealth of museums and historic buildings as well as theatres, cinemas and restaurants. There are numerous other places of interest, all a short drive away. Rievaulx Abbey, Byland Abbey, Castle Howard, Mount Grace Priory, Hutton le Hole and the North York Moors Railway are a sample of the many attractions in the area. For those wishing to relax there is the Verbena Spa at the Feversham Arms Hotel in Helmsley. The East coast is less than one hours drive away, Whitby is 33 miles and Scarborough 30 miles. A wonderfully relaxing and peaceful area. A warm and friendly welcome awaits you with good pubs and restaurants close by to eat in. The cottage is well equipped and beautifully furnished to a very high standard. Thoroughly recommended. You will not be disappointed.
