exceptionally clean, well equipped, holiday home. great for visiting local gardens - wakehurst, sissinghurst.

Good location for the High Weald, cosy place
This was a good base from which to visit Sissinghurst, Great Dixter etc and there are nice walks along the Medway. The hosts are friendly and the accommodation clean and cosy, would suit a couple or small young family well.

Lovely Quiet Cottage
We spent a week here in quarantine - it was perfect for what we needed and lovely to have a private outdoor space in the countryside. Lorna and Roland were very helpful and accommodating.

Comfortable and quiet stay.
An excellent stay. A lovely location. Next to the Medway which was stunning and so easy to access every amenity. Our hosts were really friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning.

Perfect location
We wanted a base from which to visit a number of National Trust properties in Kent around the Tonbridge area. Hawthorne Cottage proved perfect. It's very comfortable, providing everything one needs for a short break and the owners are extremely welcoming.

rural retreat close to many great places
Comfortable cottage well equipped for self-catering, close to amenities and lovely places to visit. Quiet location. Owners live next door..

Süsses Cottage in malerischer ruhiger Lage
Eine tolle Unterkunft in typisch englischer Landschaft. Die Ferienwohnung entspricht vollständig den veröffentlichten Fotos. Sie ist vollständig eingerichtet und sauber, ferner wurden Handtücher und Bettwäsche gestellt. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, bei Fragen, hatten die Eigentümer immer ein offenes Ohr. Einzige Einschränkung für größere Personen (über 1,85 m) waren die Decken des Cottages, die nicht sonderlich hoch waren. Wir werden die FeWo auf jeden Fall auch Freunden empfehlen. Begeistert waren wir auch vom fußläufig erreichbaren Pub, der malerisch an einem kleinen Fluss lag. Wir werden bestimmt mal wieder kommen.

little things would have helped
in a lovely village,greeted by owner
left a complimentary wine,which was nice but no essential things left ,kitchen roll,washing up liquid,dish cloth,no extra toilet roll,foil (which helps to save on washing up ---on baking tray)
there needs to have a freezer (good job I enquired before we stayed as it is not a proper section in fridge so they supplied one out of property)
the sitting room is a lot smaller and dark than shown on web site
bedrooms nice and clean
a good location for visting lots of national trust and castles (hever castle brill)

Excellent for short stay
We stayed at Hawthorn Cottage for over 4 weeks as we had sold our house and were waiting for our new one to become vacant.
The cottage is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. There is a washing machine and tumble drier which was extremely useful for us. There is also a washing up machine - but with just the two of us we didn't need that! The beds were very comfortable and the cottage was perfectly warm despite a few cold autumnal days during our stay.
There are plenty of good places to eat and drink in the area if you want to - the Man of Kent is very good. There are also lots of places to walk around the area.
Most importantly we found our hosts most accommodating as we had a few garden items we had forgotten in our move. They stored them in their garage until we moved out which was well beyond the call of duty.

Cosy cottage in the country
We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and lovely countryside. I really recomend it for people that enjoy walks. The pub nearby is really old fashion with very friendly staff and a good atmospere.
