Bluebell Cottage is a traditional Cotswold stone cottage, built to house the weavers who worked in the many silk mills of the beautiful village of Blockley. The cottage is one of a row on a quiet road and the rooms at the back of the cottage benefit from fabulous views of the surrounding Blockley Valley. The historic village of Blockley is very peaceful and picturesque, yet benefits from having two pubs and a community owned village shop & café, as well as a historic Norman church in the centre of the village. Numerous beautiful country walks are accessible directly from the cottage and Blockley is well located for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. The cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished by its owner, to highlight its traditional character features, including exposed Cotswold stone, wooden doors, a flagstone floor, and a wood burning stove. The character of the cottage is complemented by its modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a small flatscreen TV and a well presented kitchen. Bluebell cottage sleeps a maximum of four people, in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. There is a lovely enclosed garden to the rear of the property and free on street parking is readily available. Bluebell Cottage is an ideal retreat for friends, couples or a small family, looking for a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Other Please note that the garden at Bluebell Cottage is maintained by a local Gardening company. The gardeners tends to the garden area twice a week throughout the year, and it may be less frequent during the winter months. This is essential work in order to keep the property's outside space looking as presentable as possible, although the majority of the work does not require the use of power tools, such as a hedge trimmer or lawn mower, there may be times were they are required. Whilst the gardeners hours are flexible they cannot provide advanced notice of their schedule and will not require access to the inside of the property. Accessibility, health and safety This is an old property and has many character features, including narrow and steep stairs, and multiple floors, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. Guests should be aware that both bedroom doors open directly onto the steep stairs. The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.More

About the neighbourhood
Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South. Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/café.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
