Canary Cottage

Cottage -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Sheringham, Norfolk, East Anglia, England
A charming 1910 mid terraced cottage located in the peaceful area of Beeston Common on the outskirts of Sheringham. Lovingly restored to a high standard whilst retaining interesting original features. Very comfortable accommodation for use throughout the year. Full gas central heating with hot water always available. Piano (sheet music provided) and open fire in the lounge. Pretty front garden and quiet, secluded, enclosed rear garden supplied with patio furniture. Although parking is on road, the cul de sac is very quiet and guests are usually able to park directly outside the cottage.

We are delighted that our cottage booked for 35 weeks in 2015 and returning guests stayed for 20 of these weeks.

The Sheringham area of North Norfolk's stunning coast line has plenty to offer visitors throughout the year. The annual Sheringham Car...

Interaction with guests
Once our guests have made a booking at Canary Cottage we encourage them to contact us at any time by e mail, phone or text for more information about the cottage, if they have questions or if they would like more general information about the local area & Norfolk . We prepare the cottage each week ourselves so we can be at hand with the keys if guests wish and be at the cottage to welcome. Alternatively if guests prefer to settle in themselves we can arrange that. We are available to guests and normally near at hand if they require anything.

About the neighbourhood
Sheringham has an award winning Blue Flag beach and a lovely prom with brightly painted beach huts. If you like walking, the coastal path in either direction with it's spectacular views is well worth a try.

There's a great choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes offering reasonably priced often locally sourced food and of course good quality fish and chip shops. Freshly caught crabs, mussels and herring are available when in season.

The bustling High Street has lots of interesting independent shops and the market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Sheringham's Little Theatre hosts events and productions throughout the year. The town has two museums, two lifeboat stations open to the public, a leisure centre including an indoor swimming pool, two putting greens and a boatin...
Getting around
Travelling by car around North Norfolk can be enjoyable - we don't find there are many traffic jams! There are lots of wonderful walks (some directly from our cottage) with miles of official footpaths inland and along the coast. Buses are frequent along the coast (Coast Hopper), to the neighbouring villages & towns and Norwich. A short walk to Sheringham takes you to the two stations. The North Norfolk Railway (the Poppy Line) runs steam & diesel trains regularly between Sheringham & Holt - with fantastic coastal views. The NNR hold special events throughout the year. The Main line trains service runs from Sheringham to Norwich hourly & is reasonably priced. This route is very scenic and trains stop and various villages & towns on route.
