You can even bring your dog and enjoy countryside walks straight from the door. Within a short drive are the wonderful sandy beaches of Holkham and Wells, historic buildings such as Houghton Hall and Holkham Hall, the market towns of Fakenham, Burnham Market and Holt, several nature reserves and the North Norfolk steam railway. For nature enthusiasts, local reserves include Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve and Pensthorpe which has been featured on BBC Springwatch. The RSPB Titchwell Marsh is about half an hour's drive away. You can also take a boat trip to see the seals from Morston or Blakeney. Castle Acre Priory and Castle (English Heritage) are nearby and National Trust members can enjoy visiting the coast at Morston or Blakeney, wandering through the magnificent Sheringham Park, or exploring the National Trust properties of Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall and Oxburgh Hall. If you want to venture towards Norwich or the Norfolk Broads, they are only an hour away by car. The Shrine at Walsingham is also nearby. Or if you want an activity holiday, tennis courts, golf courses and sailing schools are all within easy access. There is so much to do, you'll be spoilt for choice, however the hosts will be happy to advise on places to eat, good walks and things to see if you want any tips or suggestions during your time away.More
