Penny Pint is a cosy two bedroom cottage, located in the quaint village of Youlgrave in the heart of the Peak District. Youlgreave is a popular, friendly village situated between the market town of Bakewell and the historic spa town of Matlock.

The cottage is in a quiet location and guests can rest outside in either of the 2 partially enclosed gardens or the adjacent allotment-garden which has a lovely view of the valley. It is within easy walking distance to village shops, pubs, children's playground and the beautiful Bradford Dale, where children can paddle, feed ducks and watch the trout.

Fully equipped kitchen including - washing machine and electric iron, dishwasher and microwave.

All linen is provided, beds are made up for you on arrival - only a toothbrush is needed!

We were so lucky to find this cottage - it was perfectly cosy for our family of four. There was even a delicious homemade cake that Nargarita made waiting for us in the kitchen! Only a 10 minute drive from Bakewell and the family-friendly Monsal...More

Youlgreave is a stunning village , with picturesque walks on the door step and good 3 good home cooking pub restaurants. An excellent base for visiting the Peak District. The property is well located with roadside parking. However it is in need of some updating....More

About the neighbourhood

If you enjoy walking there are many long and short walks that can be undertaken from the house, including the Limestone Way which passes Robin Hoods Stride with it's gritstone rocks and hermits cave and walks along the Lathkill and Bradford Dales with their renowned clear and sparkling rivers and fish ponds.

For the cyclist there are the nearby Tissington and High Peak and Manilfold trails. Tennis can be played in the village, swimming and golf in Bakewell and Matlock.

For the curious and historically orientated there are museums, the prestigeous stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall and the World Heritage Site of the Derwent Valley - famous because of Arkwright and his revolutionary machinery and mills.

How to get there
Approaching Youlgrave from the A6 (the Matlock to Bakewell road):
- Turn left on the B 5056 (Ashbourne road) continue to Youlgreave
- Turn left at the Church in Youlgrave (Bradford Road)
- Continue down Bradford Road until you see 'Brassington Close' on your left
- Jasmine and Penny Pint Cottages are on the RIGHT (i.e. opposite 'Brassington Close')

Ideally park on Bradford Road on the right hand side next to the garden wall just above and opposite the entrance to 'Brassington Close'.

Go through the tall brown boarded gate in the garden wall (to the right of the new garage)

The first cottage is Appletree Cottage, the second cottage is Jasmine Cottage the third is Penny Pint Cottage.
