Barn
Our Barn is a perfect place to get together with friends and family as there is so much space and the scenery is breath taking. Howgills Barn is set up a winding lane but is only a few minutes walk from the independent cafes and shops in town. There are lots of things for the family/friends to see and do (if you want to!!), and we also work in partnership with adventure companies to organise activities for you at the barn. Our accommodation is close to the beautiful market towns of Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale and approximately a half hour drive from the Lake District. Our accommodation offers: - 8 en-suite bedrooms (bedding hire prices for your stay at £6 per single, and £9 per double). - Large lounge - 2 kitchens - Upstairs lounge/TV room - Games room - Outside games field ...Our Barn is a perfect place to get together with friends and family as there is so much space and the scenery is breath taking. About the neighbourhood
Sedbergh's main high street offers an escape from the normal ‘chain’ stores and restaurants. It’s sandstone buildings, cobbled streets and rolling hills set an atmospheric backdrop for the artisan cafes and independent shops where you can find unique handmade gifts and enjoy cuisine from local suppliers. Sedbergh School was established in 1525 and has boarding houses and beautiful historic buildings across the town. The picturesque fells provide a host of walks and cycle routes, or perhaps even just have an amble down by the river. Killington Lake is a short journey a way where day passes can be bought to launch your own boat, canoe or windsurf. There is also a golf club which is open to all.
Getting around
On foot, by bus or by car. Main West Coast railway stops off at Oxenholme / the Lake District 9 miles away - a short taxi ride.
