Spacious Great Room with LCD TV, and amazing views. Kitchen is well stocked, and there is plenty of seating at the bar area, or the dining table. The bedrooms are comfortable, and inviting. You not only have an additional dune top deck for your enjoyment, you can also relax by the beautiful private pool with fresh colorful tiki bar. For some quiet time, relax in the covered hot tub on the mid-level deck, and enjoy a great ocean view. Lovely view and location - disappointed by house cleanliness and
We had a great week and enjoyed our group and the fabulous location - waterfront. Butt.. were very disappointed with the house cleanliness and the amenities that had been promised. One room had a blood stain on comforter, another room a stain on the rug that was so disgusting that we covered with a towel for a week. The grill was unusable and rusted out. We called the office and they responded with a new grill and replaced the dirty bedding.
The outside area was sand filled and the furniture rusted and dirty. Many of the chaises were broken and unusable. There were few pans or serving platter that could be used for more than a few people even though it was a 6 bedroom house. The dishwasher was broken and the drier broke on Thursday and was not fixed despite request.
We paid a lot for the week and were disappointed. The other homes we rented over the years were much nicer and had more amenities and niceties! This home has great potential but needs TLC!!

The dryer was indeed repaired, but evidently it was fixed on the day you departed. The dishwasher as well is in working order.

Not What I Expexted
We had a good time with the family. But we had a bed that was not made, pool alarm sounding every ten minutes the first night, dish washer would not work, water had never been turned on, I crawled under the counter and fixed that but then no hot water and dishes would not dry. Some trash cans had no bags, and two rolls of toilet paper for 6 baths?? Up stairs had not been dusted, coffee pot was gross. Could not use the hot tube(this is one reason I rented the place) sand all in the bottom jets and lights would work sometimes and foam when you turned it on, not clean enough to get in, very disappointed. Outside chairs not washed white would come off on your clothes.List goes on. They came the next day and brought toilet paper, and the guy just disconnected the pool alarm. Just was not as clean and ready like it should have been.

Thanks for taking time to fill out a review on this property. We apologize that the stay at Carolinian II was not what you expected.
We of course did get your call about the pool alarm upon check in and we dispatched a man to the property within minutes. It was our impression that the matter was fixed, but of course we returned the next day and resolved the matter the next morning. The issue turned out to be a wire corroded behind a wall that was inaccessible. We do apologize for any inconvenience regarding this.
As you know we put toilet paper in all of the bathrooms, replaced the sheet that was missing off of one bed, and provided extra towels to you the next morning once we knew of these issues.
We were unaware of any issue with the dishwasher, hot tub or water heater. I don't believe you contacted us about that matter and we agree that the hot tub should have been fully operational during your stay. We have had guests in the property since your stay and the hot tub is functioning properly now so whatever the problem was seems to be short lived.
We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay at this wonderful property. The homeowner recently replaced some of the cabinetry and counters in the kitchen and is always trying to provide a good value for his guests.

Oct 2012 Vacation
We have stayed in this house previously when it was only 2 years old. It is a great house with lots of room and amenities. We had a wonderful time here and would love to return.
However, there were a few things that could be improved upon. There were some cleaning issues which could easily be taken care of. There were also some torn screens that could easily be taken care of. The tvs and electronics were outdated and the dvd player wouldn't work with them. These could be updated inexpensively, considering the price of an in-season rental.
The most pressing issues with the house was the stove. One of the burners didn't work and the oven door did not close tight. This issue cause the fire alarm to go off repeatedly when using the oven. As you can imagine, it wasn't the easiest job to cook for 11 people with these problems.
All in all, if these problems were addressed directly, we would love to stay here again. The location is excellent. Close to everything we wanted to do and you had the beach all to yourself!!

Continuing to deteriorate
As another reviewer stated, the furniture and bedspreads are stained and worn. I have been here for a number of years in a row and they are the same each year. The house has good amenities (including elevator) and a good location but be prepared for a house where the furnishing make it seem older than it is. The hottub jets are on their last legs, there are only 3 sticks left for the pool table. The TVs are all old tube style TVs- no flatscreens. The wireless router even had to be rebooted multiple times to keep it working. The price for a cottage with an elevator is good, just be prepared for what goes with that low price.

Wonderful Family Get-Together
Since our family is from all over the us, it is great to get together once a year in Nags Head. Our older family members are grateful for the elevator. Our children enjoy the pool. The spacious big living room makes all of us enjoy getting together. The big dining table fits all of us so we are able to enjoy family meals all at the same table. The whirl pool also was a favorite. We did receive prompt action when we called about any problems.

Great family vacation !
Carolinian II provided us with great accommodations for a wonderful family vacation. The house shows pride of ownership--well maintained. The pool and spa provided a comfortable retreat from the beach. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach. All in all I would recommend Carolinian II. It was great to have our "Grandpuppy" Charlotte enjoy the vacation with us !

Extremely disappointed
Bedspreads were worn and torn, drapes in bad shape. The entire place was not inviting. Carpets were stained. Mismatched dinners were a horrible disappointment.

cozy and comfortable with amazing ocean view
This house was great for my son in a wheelchair and the deck over the sandy beach It was fun for us all. We enjoyed walking to each pier on the beach daily. My dog loved the beach too.

telaxing by the beach
Even though we were not able to check in until monday due to hurricane irene, the days were relaxing by the beach when we were there. We have rented this house before in 2007 and liked it alot so decided to rent it again. Thanks for a great time! The Guthy family.

Wonderful Family Week
Since our family is spread throughout the country, this was the one time we can really enjoy each other and have a great vacation. We love the large table where all of us can sit. The kids enjoyed the pool and the older folks appreciated the elevator and the hot tub.

Gas fireplaces are shut down from May 15 until September 15.
All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a small fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. We provide 1 hand towel and 1 bar of soap per bathroom sink. We also provide kitchen towels.
