Very nice relaxing stay and is a stationary base near historic Beaufort village home of Blackbeard [they say] and busy Morehead City as well as Beaufort Inlet to the Atlantic just a short boat ride --- famous Cape Lookout lighthouse or a short ferry ride to the Rachel Carlson Reserve --observe Wild Horses and lots of great scenery .
The local golf course is available--North River Golf .
On land enjoy the many artist --galleries-Maritime Museum--the History Place --all free.
Bring your boat or jet ski or kayak as a-- floating dock is available along with plenty of parking .Located in a newly permitted marina off Hwy 101 -- PETS OK WITH FEE -- RESTRICTIONS APPLY -- ECONOMICAL - CLEAN AND FUN.

Registered guest have to be at least 18 years old and the maximum occupancy for this unit is 2 adults.
Guests are encouraged to provide their own queen bed linens and bath towels. If it is not possible, we can provide them for $15 for towels and $15 for linens. There is a fee for pets.

Excellent place to stay
Had a great time during one week rental of floating condo. Condo is great. Very cool during very hot week. All needed appliances and cooking supplies in kitchen. Clean when we arrived. Gary and Richard were great to work with. Fishing was excellent. Caught puppy drum, black drum, croaker and speckled trout all without leaving front porch. Was able to dock 21' boat to the condo. Very nice to walk out door and just jump on boat. Condo had all comforts of home. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great place at the beach.

Fun, alternative floating condo with a view!
I stayed here during Beaufort Food & Wine and loved my experience. The boat is spacious, clean and had everything I needed for my week in Beaufort. It comes as advertised andI was very pleased with my stay. I would book this again.

Floating condo
All the comforts of home with a gentle sway. Close to all shopping and attractions. Would consider renting again. Clean and neat. Richard and Gary only a few steps or a phone call away.

So Much Better Than A Hotel Room
We were so pleased with everything about this place! Small, cute, and comfortable. My wife travels for business a lot. She said, and I agreed, this was 100,000 times better than a hotel room. All you bring is clothes and food. A little chilly when we were there, but, still enjoyed the few boats we saw. Even saw a dolphin playing in the ICW one morning. Both Gary and Richard were very nice. The only 2 recommendations I have is that the extra charge for a pet be listed on the website. I understand a charge, and have no problem paying. Just would like to know about it when planning my stay. Second, update the contact phone number. When I called to let them know we were on our way, it wouldn’t go through. We will not hesitate to book this place again in the future for a weekend getaway. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Like owning a boat without the work.
Weather was rough but our stay was great. Richard was awesome for restaurant suggestions and places to go.
Fishing should be good off the front of condo but was too nasty weather wise for us to fish. Watching the boats go by was also great.

A fabulous location for boat watching
Our ECU reunion group fell in love with the floating condo. Well decorated and appointed, we wanted for nothing extra. The wide variety of boat traffic on the ICW was truly amazing. We saw huge tugboats working and a three million dollar yacht!
Our host, Richard, was delightful and highly responsive to any of our needs. The floating condo is a unique experience and worthy of the effort to get there. Day trips to the barrier islands, Beaufort or Morehead City were easy. Our group rated this location as A++ and plan to return.

Floating Condo Comments
Overall we enjoyed our 4 day experience. The boat was well decorated and equipped with most of the necessary items. It was nice to be able to fish off the porch. The weather was generally nice while we were there.
There was a problem,however,we felt with the cleanliness. The cooking utensils needed cleaning before we used them. One frying had grease and hair in it and the coffee pot had some bugs inside. Since you are required to pay $75 in advance for clean up of the boat, we felt it was not up to our expected standards of cleanliness. Also the refrigerator ice maker did not work and we had to take a cooler to the nearby lodge to get ice as needed. If someone could spend a few hours cleaning, it could be a much better experience, especially at the rental rates charged.

Hi Jim--thanks for the review and sorry you had this problem as we try very hard to keep this rental and others clean and safe -well maintained.
As you could see we are very busy and I have to rely on my help and it is possible these items slipped through the cracks.
I do wish however that I would have been contacted immediately so we could have eliminated these issues at the time .

you all did have a good vacation --and hope to see you back again.

It was truly a relaxing vacation on a spectacular waterway in a peaceful setting.
Richard and Gary (at the Core Creek Lodge) went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They were wonderful hosts and the houseboat is large and comfortable. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something new and different.

TOTAL RELAX
Just came back home from spending 3 great nights on the houseboat.. Could not have had a better time than we did. It was clean and very nicely done from the den to the bedrooms.. Richard and the Staff are very friendly and helpful during your stay. At night it is very quiet and relaxing and if you are lucky enough you may see dolphin swim by the deck. even though it is north of town (Beaufort) there are lots of things to do. Next time we go I plan to take my boat since there is a b oat ramp here,
It was my Wife's first time staying over night on a boat and once she got used to the wave motion she loved it, It does not move a lot unless a real big boat go past and that is not bad.We plan to bring our Folks back later..

VERY UNIQUE AND A PLEASANT SURPRISE!
My wife located this on Trip Advisor and I was unsure of this rental. Boy, was I wrong. Richard is very nice and accommodating; even though we only stayed three days. The river setting is very serene. While we saw a few boats, it would be better to book on a weekend if boat watching is what you like. There is very little motion on the houseboat and the noise from the Route 101 bridge was not disturbing to us.
The only negatives we had, was that while the boat is older the interior and especially the bathroom need a good scrubbing. My wife usually cleans and re-cleans everything wherever we stay, so it did not detract from our rental.
While not a fisherman, you should bring your pole(s) and fish right off the deck!
