Holiday Rental House
Our house is a fully renovated, brick, italianate freestanding building on one of the best residential streets in Hudson, one block south of the main shopping street. Everything, including the train station is in walking distance. The house is wonderful in the fall and winter – many things to do in the area and two major ski areas – Windham and Catamount – are less than an hour away. There are a number of parks that offer winter activities – snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and ice skating, and many cultural attractions are open throughout the winter. Our house has a state of the art heating system, so it will be warm and cozy on the coldest of days. There are a number of parks that offer winter activities – snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and ice skating, and many cultural attractions are open throughout the winter. Our house has a state of the art heating system, so it will be warm and cozy on the coldest of days. After a day of skiing, you can soak in our oversized claw footed top and curl up with our blankets and throws. Or you can wander nearby and sit by a fire at the world famous Fish and Game Restaurant. The house is on a corner so light floods the elegant high ceilinged rooms through the multiple tall windows and two bay windows. There is a double parlor with original sliding pocket doors and a gas fireplace (not working yet but the house is toasty with a state of the art heating system). The house is furnished with antiques and art and comfortable upholstered furniture, with plenty of throws and blankets for comfort. There is a separate study with a large flat screen TV and pullout sofa. There is cable service and wifi. There is a full bath with tiled shower on the first floor. The renovated eat in kitchen is fully furnished and has two big windows and a door onto the back porch leading to the private shady landscaped garden. The grand stairhall leads to the second floor with its three good sized bedrooms and huge full bath with an oversized clawfoot tub as well as a large tiled shower. Two of the bedrooms have queen sized beds and one is full sized. These rooms also have tall ceilings and large windows. They are cheerful and bright. The house is fully air conditioned and heated and has an alarm system. It is probably best suited for adults or families with older children. More

Nothing gives us more pleasure than to know that our guests enjoyed staying at our home. Regina and her husband were the perfect guests - communicative, respectful, appreciative. After they left, our handyman happened to stop by and said "I thought you said there had...More

About the neighbourhood
Hudson is a vibrant small city, regularly written up in publications such as Architectural Digest, Conde Nast Traveller, and the New York Times. It is filled with high quality, trendy restaurants, art galleries, home decor shops, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. There are regular music events, as well as theater and dance productions at Hudson Hall and in nearby Catskill. Time and Space Limited shows great independent movies and opera on HD. Farther afield, the Hudson Valley has major historic attractions such as Olana, home of 19th century famed American painter Frederic E. Church, and the Thomas Cole National Historic Site. Hiking opportunities abound.
Getting around
You don't need a car to get around Hudson. The house is just a few blocks away from the train station, and everything - restaurants, art galleries, basic weekend grocery shopping, bakeries, coffee shops, clothing stores etc. are all within walking distance. There is uber and various taxi services to get you further if you need to. Of course, to experience the breadth of what the Hudson Valley has to offer - the entire districts on the National Register of Historic Places, the beautiful Catskill mountain ranges, the cultural offerings of the Berkshires, it is helpful to have a car, but again not necessary if you want to get around locally.
