Unique 17th Century Thatched Cottage

The Cottage has recently been rethatched
lower street with cottage on left , Royal Oak pub at the end of the street
The back of the cottage, patio, parking.  The grounds also have an old barn and garden to the rear.
Barbecue area on patio.
Comfortable lounge with log effect fire
Dining area with oak dining table.

Bedroom 1 , dressing area , old 17th C. stone wall exposed
second bedroom, King size bed , early 17th C. wall in Flemish brick and stone, original oak floor.
Bedroom 3 with 2 single beds all beds and mattresses in all the bedrooms are brand new .
The Royal Oak, a great pub, great beer. Serves food most evenings. Local skittle clubs meet there
Post office , 'Telegrams can be sent'
view from Hambledon Hill,  look carefully and u will see 2 Lancaster planes doing a fly past!
Hang gliding , Bell Hill near the village , spectacular views !
Cottage has a small wood at the end of the village with views to okeford hill
A local taxi service is available

Netherway Farmhouse is a 17th century thatched cottage, one of 25 listed buildings in the conservation area of Okeford Fitzpaine, one of Dorset’s most attractive villages exhibiting rural charm and relaxed pace.

Netherway is undergoing an exciting refurbishment. In keeping with its character, we are installing a new kitchen, exposing the original stonework with new appliances . We are re-instating the original pantry and creating a new utility with downstairs toilet. The lounge are will also be enlarged with more of the original features revealed.Upstairs we gain new bathroom with separate shower.
We are also installing a separate bedroom with ensuite in the third storey with separate door access, this will be available later.

We will update photos as the rooms are completed.

What a beautiful cottage, everything you could ask for. All the beds were extremely comfortable, living room is vast with lots of seating, kitchen has everything you need. Will look to book again if we are in the area...

Airport: Nearest airport Bournemoth: 41.0 km
Railway: Gillingham - direct line to London Waterloo: 18.0 km
Ferry: Poole Ferry Terminal: 43.0 km
From London by car. Most secure route is M3, A303 towards Exeter. when on the M3 take turn off at A343 to Salisbury, follow the signs to Blandford. At Blandford follow signs to Warminster, then Sturminster Marshall , turning left over the river Stour. At Shillingstone turn left towards Okeford Fitzpaine.
From London by Train.
The the train from London Waterloo to Gillingham on the Southwest Trains Exeter route. Normally select the front 3 carriages (the rest of the train stops at Salisbury). Get off the train at Gillingham, then its an 18km taxi ride to the cottage.
