Spacious and very comfortable cottage in a great location
I stayed in Rose Cottage with my parents for a week at the end of September. Quite often cottages can be small and photos of holiday rentals exaggerate the space - but definitely not with this one! It is just as the photos show it to be, being very spacious and very comfortable. It was lovely to have a separate dining room and the utility room off the kitchen is fantastic for storing coats and shoes. It would however really benefit from having a full size fridge-freezer in the utility room however, rather than two separate smaller units. The garden is lovely, there is a small table with two chairs just outside of the back door, but a bigger table with four chairs on the grass. We unfortunately didn't have time to make use of them being out every day. The bedrooms are large with lots of storage, and it's great to have towel rails in each room, not something you often get. The bathroom is very big, and has a large powerful shower and a deep bath. It was a very quiet location, just off the main road but couldn't hear any road noise at all, it is close to farms so there were a few tractors going past each day, but they weren't a problem. I guess if you aren't used to farm smells you might be taken back a bit depending on the season, but coming from a rural area, it didn't bother us at all! It's a great location for getting to the coast and into the moors. There were a few little things/quirks that we suggested needed a little attention, but we were really happy with our experience with Sykes and the correspondence with the owner. We would definitely go back as we enjoyed our stay and there is so much to explore in the area.

Lovely pet friendly country cottage
Great location for exploring North East Yorkshire, whether you are looking for beaches, woodland or countryside, it's all accessible from here. Well appointed cottage, lovely beds, big bathroom with bath and shower, nice lounge area with log burner. Enclosed garden with seating areas. Country living in a tiny village with working farms, most locals friendly and chatty, great dog walks nearby. We will return.
