This lovely house is tastefully decorated with everything you need for a perfect Cornish holiday. The living room is upstairs and the sun pours in through the large windows where you can sit and gaze at the surrounding countryside, snuggle up with a movie or get the family involved in a game of scrabble. Godrevy / Gwithian beach, and of course our favourite hot chocolate stops, Godrevy café or The Rock Pool, are all just under a mile away by road or a bit further if walking the coast path. Gwithian is a surfing hotspot. There are several surf schools to choose from along the beach and in the warmer months a horse box serving food on the beach! The upstairs living room gets a lot of sun and again benefits from its large windows making the most of this beautiful location. There are comfy sofas, movies, books and lots of games. The open fire is perfect for snuggling up in the colder months. Downstairs there are 3 bedrooms (1 x double, 1 x large single & 1 x twin) and a lovely shower room. From the road, you follow a bumpy track up to the house and there is off road parking for a couple of cars. To the front of the house is a lovely sunny, grassy garden, perfect for a game of French cricket. There is also a smaller garden to the rear, so there is always somewhere to sit in the sun. There is a small storage shed which you can use for your kit but this is not locked. The house is is a rural area surrounded by farmland, pasture and you will occasionally notice a tractor working in the fields. Location Higher Pencobben’s fabulous location ensures that you can immerse yourselves in some of the best that Cornwall has to offer. The well loved Godrevy / Gwithian beaches with wonderful west facing sands stretch on for 3 miles across the St Ives Bay to Hayle. It is a family friendly “lifeguarded beach” with several surf schools and cafes nearby. From Higher Pencobben you can head off and explore West Cornwall. Visit St Ives, just a few miles down the coast with its cobbled streets, arty vibe and wonderful food, take a day trip to St Michael’s Mount and learn the legend of the giants, explore the cornish mining heritage by heading to Geevor tin mine or view the engine houses that dot the coast. Local Secrets Godrevy lighthouse is a short stroll from the house and is made famous by Virginia Woolfe in her novel ‘To the Lighthouse’. Sitting on the grassy headland, looking out over the bay you will spot plenty of wildlife. Hundreds of seals can be seen in their secret cove nearby, dolphins are regularly spotted playing in the surf and there are sea birds a plenty. If you like walking, this is the perfect spot for exploring the Cornish coast path. From the door you can walk North passing stunning coves and incredible far reaching views up to Portreath and beyond. South will take you along the beach or over the Towans (Cornish for sand dunes) and over to Hayle and onto St Ives. More
