We absolutely loved our stay at the Loony Bin cabin. It is right on the lake and you can enjoy the view from the dock, the fire pit or the comfort of the bay windows in the living room. The cabin was meticulous clean and well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Close to town for supplies and entertainment but off the main road so quiet and private. Plenty of great hiking trails and attractions in the area for exploring! We feel in love with Minnesota, the BWCA and the resident loons on the lake. Highly recommend a visit!

Loved this cabin. Lots of amenities, lots of outlets! Everything in the listing was available to us and the view of the Lake is amazing. Location is very easy when visiting Ely and surrounding towns.

We arrived on Sunday morning and stayed through Friday afternoon. The cabin was beautiful. Everything we needed for our stay, they had. The location was ideal for getting into town and to attractions quickly. Prior to our stay and even during our stay the owners were quick to respond to any questions we had. I highly recommend this location for a great getaway!

Great location, close to Ely, and excellent base camp. However, some issues: the picture of the dock on the VRBO website is not as advertised. The dock is flooded, broken and dirty. While washing the supper dishes, also be sure to drain the dirty dish water under the leaky sink. Unfortunately, not worth the VRBO price.

I was looking for a convenient place to snowmobile from and it was advertised as being 400 feet from the trail. Well it ended up to be better than that. We were able to ride from our door step 19 feet to the lake and on to the trail. Grand Ely Lodge is 10 minutes away by car or snowmobile with good food and beverages. We will be back!

Very nice place, would stay there again. However, there is no dressers or closets to put away/hang clothes.

The cabin is very cute and perfect for our family of 4 plus one small dog. It was clean and full of all the supplies you need to cook. Location was great on a beautiful lake, near downtown Ely, and close to the boundary waters, and the international wolf center. We went on many hikes nearby and even camped in the BwCA one day.

We had a great weekend at the Loony Bin! The cabin was immaculate and the kitchen was well-stocked. We enjoyed the cozy furniture and beautiful view. Great location for hiking and easy access to Ely should you need anything. A great spot and we would definitely stay again!
