We loved our stay at this cabin! A very peaceful place with a great view of the lake and sunsets. The use of the canoe and kayaks was super nice. The new dock and lakefront is great for relaxing and swimming. Everything was very clean and well stocked. Many of us have been going into the BWCA for years and this was our first time "cabin glamping" in the area. It was perfect! The view of the lake and privacy of the cabin really felt like we were at a BWCA campsite, with more modern amenities than we had time to explore! If you like to grill with propane and have a small camping sized propane grill, we recommend to bring along. There are two charcoal grills, one by the lake and a small portable camping one. A few folding camp chairs are nice to have around too. We highly recommend this cabin!

This is a gorgeous property on a great lake. The cabin was spacious for our family of five, yet cozy enough for family time. We loved the sauna that is just steps from the lake. We even caught a 3 pound bass right off of the brand new dock. Communication with the owner was excellent. The cabin was well stocked with everything you need to feel at home. Thank you very much for a wonderful week!

What a great house and property! We spent our days hiking, fishing, canoeing and paddle boarding. We really enjoyed observing the wildlife right at the waters edge-ducks, beavers, eagles, loons and snakes. Our group had three teens who also loved the bay and swimming!

Everything about the cabin was exactly as was listed and it was perfect for our family! The host was super responsive to questions and very easy to communicate with. We especially liked the ‘extras’ that were provided like the kayaks, ample firewood, toys and games in cabin for kids, etc. It’s also an awesome huge lake to explore with some restaurants you can boat to. Only tiny little negative was the water was a bit rocky and deep for toddler to play in the water. But I think the water was high due to some recent storms. There’s a wonderful public beach we went to one day for toddler water playtime. I highly recommend the Cozy Cabin for a true northern MN lake experience. And it’s close to Ely which is another plus!

Very nice cabin great area on the lake ...

We absolutely enjoyed our stay !!! We loved having our morning coffee on the deck while watching the sunrise. Falling asleep to the sound of Loons. We went swimming and kayaking on the hot days and hiked the Bass Lake trail, went to the Dorothy Molter Museum as well as the Wolf Center on the misty rainy days. At night we watched the sun set and played pool while watching a movie . There is so much to do, rain or shine!! We would love to return next year!! Thank you again!

Everything with the rental went very smoothly. Communication with the owner was excellent. The location and amenities are awesome. Close to town, good cell service and fast Wi-Fi. The sauna was amazing! Mark did everything possible to ensure we had a fantastic stay…and we did. If you are thinking of renting this property, just do it. You won’t regret it.

We loved our stay at this cabin on the edge of the wilderness. What a beautiful spot on Shagawa Lake. We enjoyed relaxing on the property, snowshoeing, skiing and nature watching. We even heard wolves howling from the cabin one night. We would love to stay again!

On top of all of that (like you'd need more), it was just a quick (<10 min) drive into Ely where we had breakfast every morning and dinner every night. There are several good dinner spots We found Insula was our only option (at least mid winter) for a full breakfast. But their breakfasts were excellent so we didn't need anything more.
