Easy communication with owner. Large home for a big group with a big yard for games. Easy to dock boat and nice ride on the Mississippi to Pokegama for fishing/swimming. Boat landing and town with in walking distance. Beautiful view of the river.

The overall place was beautiful. The outside needs some serious work. Meaning the landscaping and yard. Sticks and branches everywhere. There was only one dock that was accessible. In the description it says 2. Totally full of weeds up through the dock itself. Not able to use at all . This place needs alot of TLC

We have been coming to this area in Minnesota for family vacation at a resort for many years. We decided to change it up to a private vrbo rental and were very pleased with what this property offered. Very private backyard didn’t even feel like you were in town. Nice view of very accessible and calm river water that led to other lakes. We set up croquet and bag boards, nice campfire pit with chairs provided and nice dock for our boat and sandbar for our jet skis. Kayaks were a nice bonus as well. Large open space inside cabin for 6 adults. Extra porch nice to kick off shoes and keep coolers out of the way. Did not use futon but mini frig on porch nice to store bait in and keep out of main frig. Bedrooms were a bit tight with extra twins but understandable for a rental. 2 full baths a plus for our group. Not sure anyone even used bathroom downstairs but that was nice to know it was available. Laundry available free to use (no coins) and was another nice bonus. Very nice (super quiet!) Bosch dishwasher in cabin. All appliances were full size. The grill was very nice as well. We found the location perfect to be close to town or a short drive to Grand Rapids for shopping at some favorite stores Discovered some trails to run/bike daily. Also made about an hour+ drive over to Walker for a shopping day and ice cream! Owners very responsive and easy check in. We rebooked for next year as this was such an enjoyable experience.

We had a wonderful time. House was clean and the AC worked. We were on the water everyday. The 10 minute trip to Pokekama was a bit longer than 10 minutes but was still tolerable. We were close to town, maybe a bit too close compared to what we usually get. The yard needed to be mowed (even though it was dry). Weeds around the house could have been cleaned up some. Was NOT happy about having a camera on at the front of the house the entire time we were there. Seemed invasive to us. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and thanks for sharing your cabin on the river.

The Rolling River's cabin and property location on the MIssissippi River was an unexpected surprise. Our family thought we wanted to be on Lake Pokegama because we heard from friends that it is the "big lake" with all the action however we loved being on the Mississippi River with its serenity and access to Lake Pokegama and chain of lakes. Rolling River's large back yard on the river had a dock to fish from, a fire pit and plenty of room to play outdoor games. The cabin's open concept living room, kitchen and dining room allowed our whole family to be together for meals, games, conversation and TV. The master bedroom and bathroom are quite large and has a door out to a deck for morning coffee or evening cocktails overlooking the river. quiet and roomy for all whole family.

You can't beat the location! 2 docs on the Mississippi with kayaks provided, close to multiple hiking and biking trails, an easy drive to town for shopping and restaurants. Despite being in a neighborhood, the cabin is very peaceful and the lot is big enough to have privacy. With a huge master suite on one end of the house and the other end having multiple sleeping arrangements and second large bathroom, the layout is perfect for parents with multiple kids, or two, maybe 3, families. The kitchen was the best stocked with cooking and serving gear of any VRBO I've stayed in. I love cooking during vacation, so I would have preferred a more reliable stove, but it didn't hold us back from enjoying anything we wanted to make. The washer and dryer worked great (they looked brand new) and are in a brightly lit entryway between the garage and the house, making it perfect for keeping dirty outdoor clothes out of the main house. My daughter and I had a blast playing Mario Cart on the TV in the open living area during a rather windy, chilly afternoon. One of the most unexpected surprises was the number of interesting birds we saw, including various water fowl and woodpeckers every day. We visited the week before Easter. I imagine the river, parks and town are humming with activity in the summer. The host messaged us in advance with info about new local restaurants, which was a kind gesture, and they were very responsive to my questions as we prepared for our trip. We had a great experience all the way around and we'd love to go back any time of year!
