The cottage contains a living room, kitchen dining room, screened porch and two large bedrooms. The master bedroom contains a queen size bed, the second bedroom contains two twin beds and a trundle bed. The couch in the living room converts to a double bed. Access to Mt. Kineo is by Boat only (no automobiles are allowed during the summer). A shuttle boat runs hourly from Mt. Kineo to Rockwood during the summer months. The cottage rental includes the use of a protected boat slip (dock) in the Kineo Owner's Marina, the use of a canoe and a John Deere Gator for transporting supplies from shuttle service. You will not be disappointed with this property!! Sorry. Only Reservations for an entire week (Saturday through Saturday) during the summer months will be accepted

Amazing!
This was one of our favorite family vacations ever with our 3 year old son, and we are planning to make a trip to Moosehead Lake every year after this. We hiked, biked, and swam in the beautiful clear rock bottom lake, just steps from the cabin. The cabin itself is a beautifully designed property, you have to see it to believe how wonderful it is.

great vacation
We've been to the Moosehead area several times but this was by far our favorite vacation there yet. Great home, great location!! We hadn't even unpacked yet when our daughter asked if we could come back next year. We hiked Mt. Kineo and swam at Pebble Beach every day. We will definitely be back!!

Glorious
I would highly recommend staying in/near the Mount Kineo area, especially for a family vacation.
I went to Kineo not fully knowing what to expect. Really, not knowing anything. I found a small town atmosphere, and friendly folks. Just make sure you bring all the needed supplies for your stay.
I also found numerous opportunities for recreation. I golfed, ran, hiked, climbed, canoed, swam, biked and "gatored" my way around the "island" to much enjoyment.
I found it to be a glorious time, allowing me to find almost perfect moments in time. And I most definitely found my "happy place" with my golf game. I only played 14 rounds in one week.
If you golf, this place must be on your list of courses to play, If you like a relaxed, friendly place to unwind from life's multiple stresses, this should be the place for you.

A vacation like no other!
This was undoubtedly the best vacation I have ever been on. If the outdoors is your thing, this is a spot you have to check out. The cottage was perfect. Private and perfectly set in an area with a beautiful view! We had everything we needed. We were supplied with a full kitchen, linens, a washer and dryer! We took advantage of hiking Kineo, golf, exploring in the canoe and fires in the fire pit at night! The one downside is you are stuck on the island at 4pm during this time of year. We prepared accordingly but was a bit inconvenient for hunting season.

Mount Kineo adventure
Great quiet location with everything you need to wind down. All the needs (dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and wireless internet) - and a canoe if the winds aren't blowing for a paddle on the lake. Not typical of what we find when we travel to the northern forest. Oh, yes, gas fireplace also in the living room. Great spot - easy access to all the trails and wildlife you would expect in the northern forest. Owner was very responsive and helpful.

Wonderful location. Great house.
If you like to golf you will love this area. But none of us were golfers. The cottage was delightful. Our host had everything we needed to have a really nice time....a canoe, a kayak, comfy chairs both at the cottage itself and down by the water, a big screened in porch which we used all of the time. The water is cold so if that doesn't appeal to you then just dangle your feet. And, don't go if you like shops and stores and lots of people. If you prefer quite, peaceful, beautiful surroundings, then this is for you. All fo the comforts of home right in the middle of the woods of Maine. Loons, other bird life, hiking, and of course, golfing for those who enjoy that sport.

Perfect honeymoon paradise
Mt. Kineo is magic, and Chris' home is an extremely private and cozy base camp for enjoying the place. From canoeing and biking, hiking and napping in the hammock, we were deliriously happy and comfortable. Chris is also really responsive.

Chris is very nice and this place is clean, comfortable, and relaxing. It is maybe my favorite area that I've ever been to. Wish I could have stayed here.
