Grasmere, Rydal and Ambleside are all within walking distance with many paths over Loughrigg Fell, and Elterwater can be reached with a stroll along the banks of the River Rothay. In the evening you can walk within 5 minutes to just beyond the top of the estate the top of the estate and watch the sun go down over the Langdale Pikes. The cabin itself offers well equipped and comfortable self catering accommodation. It has a modern fitted kitchen with an electric fan oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer and microwave; a dining area with table and chairs; and a comfortable lounge with TV/DVD and Wi-Fi connection. We regularly use the cabin ourselves and therefore hope to have included everything in the cabin we think you would need for a holiday. At the rear of the cabin is a south/west facing decked area ideal for enjoying the afternoon sun after a day out. There is a BBQ and patio furniture for 4. The estate also has a free small indoor swimming pool, ideal for children to splash around in. There is also a sauna and a laundrette with dryer, for which there is a small charge. Full bedding, towels, electricity, heating and WiFi access are provided and are included in the rental cost. There is no additional charge for pets, or booking fee. The advertised price is all that you pay to book your stay! Please note. From 15 November to 4 January the swimming pool and sauna are closed.More

Absolutely perfect. Moss Eccles Tarn has everything you could possibly need. By far the best lodge we have stayed at within Neaum Crag. In a perfect position to explore, without needing to drive anyway. Thank you for letting us stay at your gorgeous lodge

About the neighbourhood
The reason as owners why we bought the cabin, and use it a lot ourselves, is the tranquility of Neaum Crag itself, and the walking options you have on the doorstep. You can stay for a week and leave the car on the drive. With so many great pubs and tea shops en route there is no need to cook at night. However, if you do want some retail therapy, a special meal out or a cruise on Lake Windermere then Ambleside and Windermere are near by too.
Getting around
The best way to take advantage of the local scenery and area is by foot. The cabin is on a footpath and there are well maintained footpaths around Loughrigg Tarn, and walking routes to Rydal, Chapel Stile, Elterwater, Grasmere and Ambleside, all less than 6 km away. There is an hourly bus at the bottom of the hill at Skelwith Bridge that goes into the Langdale Valley or into Ambleside. From Ambleside there are further bus routes available. A car is advisable if walking is not an option or you wanted to explore further afield.
