About the neighbourhood
The central location of the villa means that several white-sand beaches, the main town of Port Elizabeth and the Belmont Walkway, lined with numerous bars & restaurants, are all within walkable distance. Alternatively, jump on an open-sided pick up taxi or hop into a “dollar van” and anywhere you desire to visit on Bequia is just a few minutes ride away. Don’t forget that, although Bequia is the largest of the Grenadine islands, it is just 7 square miles in size! If you are looking to arrange a family or group gathering, The Lookout - Hummingbird Apartment offers the perfect base to relax & entertain and lies just minutes from the nightlife, beaches & shopping.
Getting around
The Lookout is centrally located which means leg power is a free & rewarding way to get from A to B. Transport options on Bequia are fun and generally inexpensive. The open-sided taxis offer a breezy and exhilarating ride and can be booked for short trips to the beach or a restaurant or why not book one for a personalised island tour. The dollar vans are equally fun & cost just $1EC, but you have to share your ride with others. Jeep hire costs around $50US per day and will give you freedom to roam the island at your leisure. The ferries shuttle back & forth from Bequia to St. Vincent daily starting at 6.30am and take less than an hour.
