The Quintinha (little farm house) is set in a rural location in the centre of Portugal, perfect for escaping from the rat race but with all the comfort of home. From river beaches to ancient cities, we are set a just off the Route N2 which means you are ideally placed to access the main highways to explore Portugal, a country with seasons which has something for everyone. For those in search of adrenaline off roading is second to non in this region, either with or without an engine or why not try out the local wake boarding centre. The region has many trail walks for those keen hikers, or if your prefer to switch off, the many river beaches are the ideal place relax in the afternoon sun. Perfect countryside comfort
What a gem of a place! We had such a short time available, so can't offer any experiences of the local attractions, restaurants, etc. We literally just needed some downtime in peaceful, comfortable surroundings and that's exactly what we got. Lou & Phil (& their beautiful dogs!) are really warm and welcoming and excellent hosts. Chester, the Setter, even had my son-in-law trained in no time to throw the ball for him AND bring it back :) The Annexe is perfectly equipped - everything you could possibly need for a self-catering stay, including a coffee machine and the coffee! Most importantly - comfy beds (which are difficult to find in Portugal). Lovely outdoor spots for breakfast or sundowners, with beautiful views complete this 5-star offering. Can't wait to get back in summer & try the pool!

Wonderful place to explore Central Portugal. Great location and wonderful hosts.
We stayed here to enable us to explore Central Portugal and view properties and start to plan our own future life. Phil and Lou were so helpful giving us great advice. Nothing was too much for them! The Quinta itself is in an idyllic location surrounded but woodland. Although secluded it was close to a great town and a great location for exploring the wider area. It was also easily found using Google maps! The property had everything a person would need to live there never mind a holiday let. We were very comfortable and it had a cosy homely feel. We were lucky with the weather so mornings and afternoons were spent on the terrace in the sun and the evenings with a glass of wine infront of the fire. We are already planning our next stay!

Uninterrupted relaxation in stunning countryside
Located in the very heart of Central Portugal, Quinta Do Centro, is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Set in 10 acres of land amid outstanding hilly and wooded countryside, the Quinta has all the amenities one could wish for, including a plunge pool and Gin Corner (work that one out)! The accommodation is comfortable and well appointed throughout - it's as close to home as one might wish. If you enjoy nature, then this is the ideal place to be - birdlife and butterflies on your door step. We had a wonderful time here and are telling all our friends about this gem of a find.

Superb location and great amenities
A little gem! Lovely location off the beaten track close to the neighbouring village that has bars and restaurants serving local cuisine in Central Portugal. The self contained annex clean, tidy and well looked after and spacious. Very comfortable. Has everything you need including a welcoming pack on arrival to tide you over. Hosts are welcoming and leave you alone. Highly recommended. Set in a great location with a peaceful atmosphere whether its for a couple of nights or longer. Loved my stay, so relaxing. Criticisms - none whatsover. Well worth a stay!

Gorgeous location, calm and secluded, complete with nightingales singing.
Wonderful week's stay at Phil and Lou's Quinta. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The Quinta is nice and simply furnished, good large bed, powerful, hot shower, comfortable places to sit outside, very thoughtful welcome pack. In May the surrounding meadows were full of wild flowers. Pretty little town Vila de Rei nearby with excellent bakery, restaurants, little shops etc. I'm sure we'll go back to visit!

BEAUTIFUL
Decided to do a European drive through holiday of France, Spain and Portugal with my other half and our dog. This place was our last stop on the drive down. And the best! Such good value for money compared to some of the other places we have stopped at. You get a whole house for the cost of a room in most other places we stopped. Yes, it’s set a bit in the middle of nowhere surrounded by hills, forestry and hidden little streams (perfect walks with our dog off leash everywhere!) so definitely bring a car if you intend to explore, and get directions from Phil before you put it into your sat nav! But what a lovely setting. The house has everything you need to be self sufficient. They provided us with wood for the fire, coal for the bbq, towels, robes, complimentary milk and coffee to get us started. Even let us use their washing machine for muddy dog waking clothes. Being April it wasn’t really pool weather but I think it’s getting filled soon for the summer so that will be an extra bonus for future people. There’s an ‘all you can eat’ Portuguese restaurant Lou and Phil recommended down the road which is amazing. Crazy quirky art everywhere. Wine, beer, food and a crazy accordion double act. The local town is a short drive away which has some nice little cafes too. I still can’t over how inexpensive everything is. 90 cents for a beer in a local cafe! 3 course lunch with a drink for 5 euros! Lou and Phil have two gorgeous dogs and ours is in love with them and jealous of all the space they have to explore together. It’s completely central Portugal (you can even go visit the most central point down the road and search for this Vila) so don’t be thinking it’s a short stroll to a beach or touristy. Just a genuine, local way of living life. The surfing beach we went to (can’t remeber the name now) was only an hour or so drive away though. As was our day trip to Lisbon. Lou and Phil are very knowledgable about the area and will always point you in the right direction of things to do depending on what you’re looking for. Ours was mainly relaxing, eating, drinking and walking so this was just perfect. Thank you guys for having us and being excellent hosts. Look after Charlotte Sebastián (I got to name one of their chickens). And show the other guests your amazing giant gin balls! Charlotte Mike and Keavagh Xxx

A short Break in Portugal
Ammenities are comfortable and well presented. The accomodation consists of a living room and kitchen on the ground floor and a bedroom and en suite bathroom above. We understand that they now have thier own hens for freshly laid egggs and that there will be plenty of fresh produce from the garden this year. The location is beautifully secluded yet only a couple of kilometres from the pleasant and friendly little town of Vila de Rei which has shops, bars and restaurants. Within easy travelling distance are lovely quiet river beaches and river boat trips. If you like walking/hiking then this is the place to be, some of the tracks actually start from the back of the house. Phil and Lou (and Chester their dog) have a great place here which we look forward to visiting again sometime in the future.

Perfect for those wanting to get away from it all.
Set down a secluded track near the village of Vila de Rei, the Quintinha is a lovely self-contained home away from home, complete with a kitchen and wood-burning stove. The terracotta tiled floors and shutters on the windows keep it deliciously cool in the summer. The valley faces west, the millions of trees wave in the breeze and it is truly a perfect get-away for those who want some peace and quiet. That said it is also ideal for exploring the lesser known Portugal; the roads are fantastic and traffic free - all you need is a map. There are beautiful river beaches nearby so bring your swimsuit. You are in the geographical centre of Portugal so visit the Centro Geodesico de Portugal in Vila de Rei for an amazing 360 panoramic view of the country. On a clear day you can see Spain!
