We do not cater for hen or stag parties. This is a family home from home which is comfortable, clean and welcoming for families.
We also charge £25. pppn for extra guests over and above those agreed upon at the time of booking but would be hesitant to agree to more than 4 adults staying at the cottage.
Quirky cottage with all the amenities for a cosy stay .Rooms are comfortable and bright. Garden furniture and barbecue are provided if you have good weather. Out host June was friendly and helpful.

Made to feel very welcome by June and George and the cottage is well situated within Millport. The cottage itself is excellent with everything you will need.

Hobbit Cottage Delight
Excellent property with everything you could possibly want including a warm welcome from George and June. If you want peace and quiet (apart from birdsong) this is the place to go. I enjoyed a morning cuppa in the Buddha garden. Comfy beds, loads of room and a wood burner. Highly recommended.

Hobbit cottage Millport
June and George were very friendly and welcoming. Hobbit cottage was perfect for a family holiday. Enclosed garden was an added bonus for our dog, also made good use of the chiminea, we took our own firewood but can be purchased there. Was pleasantly surprised with the sneaky view of Kames bay through the trees. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Fantastic cottage.
Had a lovely cosy short stay and would definitely love to return.
I have stayed at another couple of dog friendly places in Millport, but this is the best.

Beautiful little cottage
We stayed in hobbit cottage for a few nights in February with our three children. The cottage was so cozy and had everything we needed. The log fire was a really lovely feature and kept us nice and toasty when it was freezing outside. George and June were so welcoming and really couldn’t do enough for us. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short because of bad weather but have booked to come back in July. Amelia Erin and Archie loved the cottage and are super excited to be coming back in their summer holidays!!

Hobbit Cottage
Another wonderful weekend spent in this lovely cottage. Just myself and my dog. I have stayed here previously and have booked again for May 2020. It is a special place on a special island. Well worth a stay and the hosts June and George are on hand to offer island information, help improve your stay or just a lovely chat on the way past.

Millport is a child's paradise, safe to cycle and play on the beach. Kames Bay is a safe bathing area with very gradual walk out to gain deep water. A peaceful place for adults to relax. Great places to eat, friendly pubs and shops for all of your needs. Bird watching, great walks and friendly people. Europe's smallest Cathedral, The Wedge house with the smallest frontage in Britain. The old town is a Victorian gem.
Getting around
Everywhere in Millport can be located on foot but a drive round the island is recommended and up to the top of the island to see the Gladstone and stunning views. Cycle round and stop for an ice cream half way at Fintry Bay.

How to get there
From Glasgow look for GREENOCK/GLASGOW AIRPORT.
After the turn off to the Airport almost immediately bear left to the A.737 which should be signposted to IRVINE.
Contine on the 737 and eventually you will come to a roundabout, at the roundabout turn right to KILBIRNIE/LOCHWINNOCH/LARGS leaving the 737.
Just follow the A760 to KILBIRNIE. (There is no fuel on the island so it may be as well for you to re-fuel at the Tesco Supermarket.)
Through Kilbirnie to small roundabout turn right almost immediately turn left to LARGS continuing on the A.760
Follow the road over the moors to traffic lights, turn right Irvine Road A78.
Go down through town and turn left at KWIK FIT. Go past the Green Shutters Tea Room and join Ferry Q.
