Ardoch Lodge is an idyllic retreat of 12 acres surrounded by spectacular scenery in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Whether you stay here for the whole of your holiday never getting into your car or use our central location as a base to explore this beautiful part of Scotland you will have an excellent holiday.Environment Protecting our environment here at Ardoch Lodge and enhancing it for the wildlife who visit us is particularly important to us. That it is such a haven for trees, plants & wildlife makes it a special place to be. We are delighted to be recognised as a green tourist organisation and have recently achieved silver standard under the Green Tourism Business Scheme. This organisation was established in1997 and its certification scheme recognises responsible site management, encouraging good environmental practice and aims to reduce the environmental impact of all business. Over the years we have planted many trees and plants to provide habitat for birds, butterflies, bees and other wildlife and for example piles of tree thinings are left to provide further habitat. Our list of resident and visiting birds has grown considerably, red squirrels are regular visitors to the bird tables, red & roe deer often go through the grounds and occasionally we see pine martens. We are also committed to doing our bit for the wider environment and guests will find recycling facilities, low energy bulbs etc.. Information on locally produced food is available. As well as plenty of walks from the door we are adjacent to a cycle path, so why not hire bikes for the day. Pets are more than welcome at the cabin and the Mews Cottage at Ardoch Lodge. Indeed our establishment has been described as a dogs paradise by more than one of our customers The Lodge, the two log cabins and the cottage are set in just over 12 acres of grounds. Whilst there are areas of mowed grass and a formal walled garden there are acres of rough grass and wild growth for the dogs to roam in. There are walks within the grounds, along the river bank and through the woods in between. For the larger dog and fitter owner there is abundant walking in the immediate vicinity mainly through Forestry Commission woodlands onto the hills or along the loch sides. We are well away from the main road, access to the property is via a minor road (single track with passing places) so there is little traffic to worry about. We do ask that you supply your pets own bedding and not allow them on the beds or furniture, to clean up after your dogs (shovels provided) in the mowed areas and not to let them roam the grounds unattended. Please do not leave your dogs for long periods in your accommodation unless you are confident they will be quite content, dogs, we have discovered, can become agitated at being left behind in unfamiliar holiday accommodation with strangers and other dogs around. With our dogs we know only too well how difficult it can be to find a warm welcome for both us and our companions. We do assure you that you and your dogs will receive a warm welcome at Ardoch Lodge. There is an upper limit of 2 dogs in the Hillside cabin and the cottage. More

We had a lovely weekend in the cottage in Strathyre. It looks onto wonderful mossy birch trees where a red squirrel was playing. It was within easy walking distance of the village cafe and pub, and there were fantastic walking trails around. The cottage was...More
