Peace and tranquillity in the 'real' Dominican Republic - up a bumpy track to get here for about the final 2 kms so a high wheelbase vehicle recommended . One bedroom with queen size bed and en suite facilities which is part of my main house and you can have use of the well equipped kitchen and lounge area with Sky TV + there is free wifi internet. Hacienda de Henderson is set in 1.5 acres of tropical, well kept gardens with huge covered terrace where there is a pool table for amusement. I also have a small swimming pool with outside dining area and sun loungers all for your use. The birds in the delightful aviary can be heard tweeting and at night the crickets and frogs and the odd cockerel (they don’t only crow at dawn here) may be heard. You need to be a dog lover to visit here as I have 8 plus George, the cat, who came here with us from England some 8 years ago. I employ two workers, a husband and wife team who are hard working, honest, loyal and trustworthy. Tuly works on the farm and also keeps the gardens in impeccable order whilst Margo works in the house so will be your vacation cleaner and will cook for you if required. There is a bbq for your use on the covered terrace and, just inside the first field, is a huge open fire bbq too should you require the fun and luxury of a typically Dominican whole roasted piggy which will be marinaded with Margo’s secret recipe! I am about 20 minutes drive from the international kite and wind surfing town of Cabarete and approx. 45 minutes from Puerto Plata airport (pick up can be arranged if required). For something totally different, Hacienda de Henderson, is the place to visit.
