About the neighbourhood
The area around Llanwrtyd Wells is full of natural beauty and breathtaking scenery, making it an ideal centre for walking, mountain biking, bird watching and touring. As you drive through Mid Wales it is often possible to spot a red kite, one of Britain's rarest birds. There are plenty of options for walking and hiking nearby in the Irfon Forest and around the Llyn Brianne Reservoir, an artificial lake which was created in the 70?s when the River Towy was dammed. At times of low rainfall, it is sometimes possible to see the roofs of the houses which had to be flooded in order for the dam to go ahead.
Getting around
Airport: Cardiff: 112.0 km Railway: Llanwrtyd Wells: 1.6 km Easily found on the A483 between Builth Wells and Llandovery. Located on the Heart of Wales Railway Line between Shrewsbury and Swansea. Only two hours from the Midlands and the Severn Bridge.
