Spacious 3 bedroom property in the Dumfries and Galloway Forest Park. The cottage has 3 double sized bedrooms, living room with wood burning stove, large kitchen with separate dining room with dining table and seating for 6, bathroom with walk in shower. 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs. The cottage has a large enclosed garden to the rear with direct access to the forest.Outside there are tables and chairs and both a gas and charcoal bbq, large shed for secure storage of bikes etc.Small garden at front with bench.

The cottage is fully central heated with a wood burning stove in the living room. Books, DVD's and games are available.
The area is perfect for mountain biking & cycling, walking, fishing, star gazing, wildlife, exploring the area or just relaxing.

We 3 adults and 1 kid and dog had a great time in this well equipped cosy cottage.Everything we needed and more.Weather wasnt the best but we assumed that so we all came ready for it and walked for miles on our 3 days.Highlight of...More

All rates include bed linen, bath, hand and tea towels & supply of wood for wood burner.Dishwasher tablets, cleaning materials, soap etc provided. Rates also include central heating and electricity - no extra charges. No charge for pets. We have a large dog cage - please advise if you would like to use it.Please contact for weekend breaks or if you wish to leave arrive on a different day - all dates above run from Saturday to Saturday.Minimum stay is 3 nights. £100 deposit is payable on booking. The balance should be paid in full 6 weeks before arrival. If booking less than 6 weeks before arrival full payment is needed to book.We will also require a £50 fully refundable damages deposit - this will be refunded within 1 week of departure.Check in time 4pm, check out time 10am but can be flexible to suit.

Glentrool is the only village in the Galloway Forest Park. The park has recently been awarded dark skies status because of its low light polution and remoteness. It is the only dark skies park in the UK.Glentrool has an abundance of activities - it is beside the renowed 7 Stanes mountain biking trails.Further excellent trails are also available less than 30 minutes away at Kirroughtree. The area is also great for walking - there are numerous forest walks, some direct from the cottage and Southern Scotland;s highest mountain is nearby. By Road - From the North (Glasgow / Ayr) follow the A77 to Girvan and then the A714 for Newton Stewart until Bargrennan. Here you turn left for Glentrool village. OR
Also from the A77 north, turn left (B7045 sign posted Kirkmichael/Straiton) continue straight to Glentrool(nice scenic route as long as weather Ok)
