Worthy Cottage is a beautiful 'gatehouse' cottage, perfectly suited to couples looking for a romantic retreat in a wonderful secluded location. The property is located at the entrance to Worthy Manor, the grounds and gardens of which have been featured in Country Life magazine. Worthy Cottage is one half of a converted barn; downstairs is a bright and airy kitchen/dining/sitting room with a log-burner. Upstairs is the bathroom and good sized bedroom with king-sized bed and great views across the Manor gardens to the sea beyond. Worthy Cottages is an excellent choice if you are looking for a base for walking; the South West Coast Path runs right past offering dramatic cliff paths, farm tracks, fields and beautiful wooded combes with seasonal waterfalls and streams between Worthy Cottage and Lynmouth. Worthy Cottage kitchen is fitted with washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, electric oven and ceramic hob. Other equipment includes cookware, toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. (There is no dishwasher in this cottage). Iron and Ironing board and hair dryer are included. A television with Sky TV (basic package) with BT Sports channel, DVD player and CD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. A travel cot and/or high chair is available; please request them when booking so we can make sure they are present for your arrival. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Worthy Cottage is fitted with wall-mounted heaters in the bedroom and living area, which can provide instant heat or programmed to suit, plus a wall-mounted heater and heated towel rail in the bathroom. There is also a wood burner in the living area; kindling, matches and one basket of logs will be provided. Additional logs can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Bed linen is not supplied for the cot. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, washing powder and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided. Worthy Cottage has its own private garden. There is walking straight from the door into the woods behind or down to the beach where dogs are allowed all year round. Off-road parking for one car is available directly outside the property. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £15 will be added to your invoice. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time. Worthy Cottage is strictly non-smoking.More

Porlock Weir is a gem - so beautiful and relaxing. Lovely walks especially to the pub. Porlock is a short drive and a lovely place to have a coffee or get basic supplies. We found - as did other visitors, that the property wasn't cleaned...More

Was concerned at seeing past comments, but the accommodation was fine. Nice views from the upper floor of the sea, good location for walking to Porlock Weir and bridleway close by following flowing stream. The cottage was cosy with a good tv signal and nice...More

First impression upon pulling up in car space was, shabby and neglected. Inside was only marginally better. Cleaning not up to standard. All recent previous remarks on this property have not been addressed. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable and spring coming through mattress. Came home...More
