The Old School Cottage retains its charm with arched windows and modern interior. The original bell is still sited in the bell tower. Private access is through the 'Girls & Infants' entrance. An ideal base for groups of 2, 4 or even 6 to start your exploration of Devon and Cornwall. Within a short drive you can reach many Dartmoor villages (Widecombe-in-the-moor, Meavy, Moretonhampstead, Yelverton etc..) and attractions such as Burrator Reservoir, Burr Island, Cawsands and Morwellham Quay. The market town of Tavistock, Princetown, Yelverton and the City of Plymouth with its maritime history and seafront location are but a short drive. Shops, Chippie and family pubs are a short walk into the village. The Eden Project is about 50min drive away. Looe & Polperro are about 35mins. About the neighbourhood
Within a 15 minute drive you can reach many villages - Meavy, Yelverton, Clearbrook and Princetown to name a few. Golf clubs and attractions such as Burrator Reservoir, Morwellham Quay and Lydford Gorge. Many local National Trust properties including Buckland Abbey and Saltram House are but a short drive. The historical market town of Tavistock with it's Pannier Market is less than 4 miles. Princetown is 5 miles. Plymouth with its maritime history and seafront location 10 miles. Plymouth airport 6 miles. Various festivals take place through the year including the famous Goose Fair in Tavistock. The Eden Project is about 90mins to drive.
How to get there
Fly into Heathrow or Gatwick airports and take a train to Plymouth via Paddington Station (London). Bristol, Plymouth or Exeter airports are closer. BY CAR DIRECTIONS: Take M5 South and then the A38 towards Plymouth. Follow signs for Tavistock (A386). Turn 1st left at Yelverton roundabout. After 1 mile, turn right into Horrabridge village centre. Go over stone bridge and turn left. Leaping Salmon pub will be on your right. At the White/cream Chapel House (250 yards) turn right. The Old School House is 50 yards up on the left. Alternatively, take M5 South and follow the signs towards Oakhampton (A30).
