Previous reviews sum up the property almost to a tee. The location, the views, the lagoon are exceptional. We found the house comfortable but as with any property it was looking a bit tired in areas and needed a bit of maintenance which we bought to owners attention, ie light bulbs out, fans going at one speed only, bbq dials not working, also outdoor furniture on last legs and squats old and dirty. The owners obviously had invested in 4 new air conditioning units which cost extra which I have never come across before. As it was their winter we didn't need them and the temperature would have been ok with the fans if they worked properly.
Rima was a delight, a little over bearing but a gem, she chauffeured us around and kept us entertained with the local gossip and we had many a laugh. Only taxi in Aitutaki and reasonably priced.
Having enjoyed a day out with Bishop cruises I nearly didn't go out on the complimentary Ru's Glass Bottom boat, that would have been a mistake as was a fantastic day out and went to much better places and learnt so much about the history of Aitutaki, The Storey brothers were great and the brother who took us out shared many tales and his knowledge of the lagoon and island was great, it didn't matter we had no cutlery for our BBQ lunch! Well worth it. Thank you for including in stay.
Nora you were great, excellent communication and I appreciate on an island you have challenges with maintenance. As a fellow hospitality person I know from experience you need to keep on top of things, it is little things that count, even tidying up compendium and notes left for guests would make a difference.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. It was a special gift for my 60th, you never know I may be back for my 70th if not before!.
