Beautiful Nature Retreat!
My family and I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! The house is absolutely beautiful and spacious. The wifi was fast, the pool was great and the grounds were fascinating! We saw monkeys on a few occasions and had fresh mango from the trees every single day. The manager of the property was extremely friendly and helpful.
There are a few shops and restaurants in the area that we enjoyed eating at, including a massive souvenir store right across the street.

Paradise Lost
These villas were probably a paradise in their day; however, those days have passed. The grounds of these villas were unkempt and overgrown. The swimming pool was not cared for. The outdoor furniture was old and shabby. The meeting area was nice but was closed most of the time. The interior of the villa was lovely to look at but the a/c was poor, the basic coffee maker was dirty and did not work. One roll of toilet and one roll of paper towels were all we were given. Furthermore, these villas were 30-45 minutes from Jaco. It was difficult getting in and out of the villas due to the cumbersome and traffic. We would not stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I wish your experience would have been better. In the future you might prefer a hotel, which has 24 hour service, as opposed to vacation rentals. There were two other groups of guests who were staying at exactly the same time as you. They both wrote 5 star reviews and loved the tropical feel of the property. These guests felt completely different about their entire experience with us. As an owner, no matter how hard my staff and I try, it is hard to please everyone. The reviews below, which can be found on another vacation rental site, were both from guests who were staying with us at the same time you were and they had a wonderful time. We wish you safe travels in the future.
Review #1 -5 star- (2 adults):
"This place was amazing! I felt like we were alone in the jungle in our little bungalow, watching the coatis and listening to the howlers every morning! The house had everything we could need, including a nice modern kitchen with all dishes and cookware (even an ice-maker on the fridge!). We were told the internet was dicey, but we didn’t really have any problems at all! The decor of the place was very authentic (the tiled bathrooms were gorgeous!) and beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the a/c was very efficient, just overall a great experience! The manager, John, was there to welcome us, and what a sweetheart he is!! He made sure we had everything we needed, and was so warm and welcoming. He had a helpful answer or advice for every question we threw at him, was a great source of local information, and was always so pleasant to chat with. The pool area is beautiful (and just the right temperature). John said that of the 6 available bungalows on the property, all but one was occupied, but you would never know it! We only saw another guest one time, that’s how well-tucked these houses are! :-) A++ would definitely recommend to others!! (Please note, although nature pretty much stayed outside of the house, you ARE in the middle of the jungle, so don’t be too squeamish)"
Review #2 -5 star- (10 adults & 3 children) :
"Great place, our host was of great help, we had a great time there!!! Thanks for everything!! Just note the pool is not near the houses and is not private if other houses are rented, hill climb (around 50 mts) needs to be done everytime we needed to go to the houses and bathroom. For the rest everything was great."

Highly recommended!
We stayed there for 3 nights in May 2015 with our 2 young kids. The warm Costa Rican welcome and personalized service was extremely nice. The pool is spectacular. The property is a huge park with tropical gardens. Pick you fresh fruit (mangos, oranges, grapefruit and more) right from the trees ! Bus stop just in front of property, perfect to explore Carara National park. Grocery store across the road.

The Beauty of Costa Rica
We stayed at Villas Del Rey in early October (green season) with our 8 month old son and mother in-law. We opted for the 2 bedroom villa with a King and Queen bed, I have to say I was quite impressed when I arrived, the pictures on TripAdvisor don't really do the property justice. The Villas sit on a 20 Acre lot that is lush and green, it literally feels like your living in the rainforest. One morning we came outside to see monkeys in the trees staring back at us, our son loved it, every time we took him outside for walks he was quiet as a mouse just in awe of all the colours and sounds.
Siney was absolutely amazing, she was so warm and friendly, and very knowledgable about the area; where to go grocery shopping, where downtown was, where tours were. She was very accommodating, and a pleasure to talk to!
We stayed here in order to meet with our wedding planner, and wedding vendors for the fall of 2015 (summer in Costa Rica) so I would strongly recommend renting a car during your stay, (Adobe's Airport location was very good, and convenient.) If you end up renting a car get a GPS 100% co-ordinates were a life saver when navigating the wild streets of Costa Rica. Aside from main roads in the city; San Jose, and the highways, most streets don't have names so co-ordinates are the only way you will find things, so plan ahead. Most locals give directions with regards to a landmark, if you don't know the landmark you won't know what they're talking about, also in more rural areas most people's English isn't strong...Kind of like our Spanish.
Overall we would definitely recommend Villas Del Rey if your looking for something different from an all-inlusive!
