The Island Villa is a quiet place with a beautiful garden, surrounded by swaying coconut palms, fruit bearing trees such as mango, jackfruit, chickoo on the property and has its own private pool with a sun deck set out at the rear in total privacy. The mansion has a breezy bolcao running around the outside in an L shape with 2 large soppo's, perfect for escaping the heat of the summers. Handcrafted stone works have been added for a bit more rustic feel around the mansion. As you enter the main door there's a large sitting room with high ceilings and the dining room. Its the ideal space for an evening tête-à-tête and can easily seat 20 people. This is followed by a master bedroom with an antique double bed, spacious cupboards, wooden ceiling and an ensuite huge bathroom (an old bedroom converted). There is yet another bedroom with 2 single beds on the ground floor - air conditioned. You have a well-equipped spacious kitchen with many cupboards in an old fashion way but with a modern cooking hob and chimney. In addition you have a high rise table and high stools in case of a quick snack or just sip on a few cold beers with your friends as you cook them a lovely meal. There is also a fridge, a blender, cutlery and all the necessary pots and pans required for you to get going. On the first floor you have a large wooden attic where a working Gramophone sits on a tall table, although in working condition she is in search of a few good old musical records.. There is also the master bedroom on the first floor with its own ensuite bathroom and a wooden ceiling. Again the bedroom has lovely large windows overlooking the pool and also a huge loft above the bathroom. On the other end of the first level you have a huge bedroom. Here this room has a stunning bathroom – open to space. With so much space all over the house, the Attic could be used to accommodate friends and family in case of large gatherings or re-unions. At the rear of the house you have a 15 meters long amoeba shaped pool, built with natural stones and uniquely set out amidst lovely lawns, tall teak trees and privacy. Just laze on the sun beds the whole day and fire up that bbq with the Weber charcoal grill (provided with the villa) when you feel like. UNLIKE THE GOAN BEACH BELT, ANY HOTELS, ANY VILLAS IN METROS OR BEACH AREAS THE VILLA POOL IS SET AMIDST TOTAL PRIVACY AND YOU CAN HAVE A SWIM WITH NO ONE LOOKING INTO THE POOL AS YOU ARE IN TOTAL PRIVACY AT THE REAR END OF THE VILLA WHERE THE POOL IS LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY!!!!! THIS IS THE BEST THING HERE. The house has an inverter system to keep the lights going when the electricity goes off in Goa. Hot and cold water provisions made for all the bathrooms. We do have the shavers only switches in all bathrooms incase anyone of you comes in from the land of 120Volts!!! The villa utility room consists of a washing machine, pressure pump, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, etc.. Amenities/Facilities: Air Conditioned bedrooms (4 nos) Hi Speed Internet Access Room Fans installed in all rooms Cable TV Natural stone pool Mini Library Games - indoor (board games) and outdoor. Music System - hook up your iphone or tab and stream live music (take it besides the pool if you want to via bluetooth)!! CHILL - RELAX - SWIM - LISTEN TO MUSIC - HAVE A BEER - MAKE A BBQ - READ A BOOK - SKINNY DIP - PLAY SOME GAMES - FRY SOME FISH - SLEEP - TAKE A WALK ON THE ISLAND - SWIM THE SURROUNDINGS The Villa is located in a quiet village of Chorao in a picturesque area great for short and medium range walks along the fields, river or just the village ambience. Coastal belt/Beach A 30-45 min drive can get you to the happening beaches of North Goa like Baga, Calangute, Candolim, etc.after crossing the ferry. How to get there The Goa International airport is about 40 km away and takes around 1 hour to get there. Local taxis available on call and the best option is usually to rent your own bike or car for long stays. One can reach the island by taking a ferry from Ribandar which is on the road to Old Goa at 3kms from Panaji, the heart of Goa. There is also a ferry linking Chorao to Pomburpa on the island's west thus offering a convenient connection to the happening night spots of Goa. In case one wants to save on the waiting time for the ferry, a special ferry could be hailed for a nominal price and one would be in the midst of Goa's glittering parties in next to no time! Further Details The island is home to the famous Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary which, with a thick layer of mangrove forest and unique nature trails and wetland ponds, is an ornithological delight! Arrangements with the forest department and private operators can be made for boats which can take the guests through the backwaters of the mangroves for exclusive views of the city, apart from the birds! There are also bicycle trails and small picnic spots along the river on the island. Chorao Island is located very close to main Panjim city so local shops, supermarkets, banks etc are a mere 20 min away. INFO ON THE ISLAND The Island Villa is a quaint, warm and gorgeously restored stunning Portuguese house available for long term lease in Goa; set amidst a lot of privacy at 'Itha dos fidalgos' or the 'Island of noblemen' in North Goa all set out for you in one of Goa's most charming and easily accessible island of Chorao. Chorao is not only the winter refuge to glorious migratory birds, but is also a treasure trove for the historically inclined as well, as it was amongst the first places to be captured by the Portuguese and is abound with whitewashed churches including the majestic 16th century church of Sao Bartholomew (just across which this villa is situated), as well as exquisite old goan houses! It is one of the most untouched areas of Goa, thus providing a perfect getaway, far away from the maddening crowds where one can soak in the true tradition of Goan village-life and experience the soothing sounds of nature. Yet it is located very close to all the action, Old Goa with its Se Cathedral is a 25 min drive. The happening beaches of North Goa are a 30 min drive and Panjim and its old town area are again just 20 min away. The Island Villa is a truly charming country dream home.... in a mesmerizing village in one of North Goa's most unadulterated areas partly as its still an island. Sitting in the pillared verandah it is easy to get lost in your favorite paperback, while you hear the sounds of chirping birds or see some peacocks dancing across the beautiful landscape in front of you.. This is a perfect spot for those looking for a holiday with nature and in the true Goan village lifestyle, yet never being too far from the white sands of the beaches and the city. The mansion is the perfect getaway for a peace and quiet lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle, noise and pollution from the cities or coastal belts. The owner has blended some modern architecture with the old yet keeping with the old Portuguese trends. In addition the original style of interior design including restoration of old furniture originally from the same house whilst adding influences from different parts of the world the same time. The interiors are cool and yet plain but huge with vast open spaces and heights. You are at a place to relax…just relax alongside one of the most beautiful private pools with nature in Goa. Pls follow the Pool Rules & House Rules. We do not have a kids pool as the entire pool is 5.5ft length. Pls carry own floaters for pool use and also for the kids. Pool usage shuts at 7pm and no night swimming due to chemical treatment and disturbance to neighbors. No night pool parties. The chill session with mates can carry on inside the villa. Not outside at nights. Smoking is allowed not inside the property but in the verandahs, pool area and on property and lawn areas - no problem.

A perfect reset from the city

Casa Bottu is a lovely place located on an island just off Panjim city... A short ferry ride and you are completely disconnected from the city.. On the property u can't even hear a honk from a vehicle, just the sounds of crickets and birds......More

Weekend at island pool villa

We had an amazing, comfortable and relaxed time at island pool villa..perfect for families. The caretakers were so polite and made us feel completely at home. Definitely worth a visit,i will definitely be going back.
