In the middle of everything and great place on top of it!!
We totally lucked Into this one!! It's a great place that easily sleeps 6, 7 if someone were take the comfortable couch! Full kitchen, washer , dryer ..all amenities and 24 hr security . It's right in the middle of everything, shops, bars, restaurants and ipanema square...where there is the ultimate market on sunday!!' To top all that off, the owner is the most helpful, connected and well informed you could have!!! You will not be disappointed! You are even welcome to reach out to me if need be for ideas for hinges to do ..,I also rated several of the tourist attractions! However the owner will fill you in on the nightlife and cultural events! I want to come back just to stay there again!!! We totally feel like we lucked into but we did our research too ! We have even invited the owner to come visit us at our beach place in california with his family !!

PERFECT PLACE, PERFECT HOST !!
Our stay at Felipe's place was just perfect!
The location is the best you can wish for, a stone's drop to Ipanema beach, surrounded by transportation (subways, buses, taxis and bike lanes), lot's of shops and night life all around. You can go anywhere in the city, at any time from there. Riding the bikes on the beach side and along the Rodrigo de Freitas lake is a must ! Problem is wanting to leave!
The apartment is ample, cozy and decorated with good taste. I felt so good there I actually spent some time inside, just reading some of the tons of literature on Rio Felipe left there while listening one of the thousands of cd's available. All the best in Brazilian music, but also jazz, rock and classic.
The King size bed, with good linens, the great shower, the excellent air conditioning and the silence of the place all make up to a perfect vacation (or study) spot.
All of this is great, but, honestly, the service Felipe provided us made our trip to Rio just so memorable. For that, I honestly think this place is one of the best deals you can find. Even before we arrived, he sent us almost 40 Mb of info that I would never find on any guide book. Best insiders tips ever! This guy knows the city in the palm of his hand and was always within reach. He constantly sent us updates on stuff to do and see, events in the city, even real time restaurant suggestions on the spots we were visiting. Felipe's attention made our trip be so much better than we could have ever expected. If I had know this, I could easily have payed 4 times more than I payed! Thanks Felipe

Amazing place - worth every penny!
What an excellent experience! We researched hundreds of places and we are very pleased with our choice. The place is exactly as described and it exceeded our expectations - it was home away from home - worth every penny! It was spacious, very clean and modern, clean cotton sheets and soft towels, hotel quality mattress (a big plus when traveling abroad) and above all else, great water pressure with hot/warm water. Location! Location! Location! We loved the neighborhood, quaint and just one block from the beach. We felt save at all times - the doorman was very friendly and reliable. The icing on the cake was our host Felipe - he is an excellent host/guide/friend just a text message away - always available to answer our questions. He also kept us informed of what was happening in the city: free concerts, places to visit, etc.. He is a wealth of knowledge and his carioca warmth made us feel very special as he went the extra mile to make sure we had a good time. We will with no doubt book his place when we return to Rio. We had a fantastic unforgettable experience.

Perfect location, perfect furnishings, perfect host
This apartment is great-- a block from the beach, a block from the Metro, right across from a 24 h grocery store, in a lively and dynamic neighborhood with many restaurants and clubs and even a park with a "hippie fair" on Sundays. The doormen are polite and helpful. There is a full kitchen, and we did breakfasts and the occasional dinner in easily. It is comfortable and roomy, with AC that works and several beds. Felipe the proprietor is a fount of knowledge and he checked in by text almost everyday to see how we were doing and to provide recommendations of places to go and things to do, which he seemed to research diligently as he was up on everything ahppening. We did take advantage of the bikes, going end to end on both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. You won't go wrong staying here!
