I spent a wonderful eight days at the Bahari Lodge in Kaashidhoo Island. Everything about my trip and stay was unique, from the local ferry that I took costing me only a couple of dollars from Male to Kaashidhoo, to the food I ate, people I met, things that I saw. I am so delighted that I chose not to stay in a fancy overwater bungalow and instead chose a locally owned guesthouse which gave me insight into the daily lives of the Maldivian people. Being able to meander through the village feeling so safe as a woman travelling alone is very important to me. At all times I was treated with respect and kindness in their hospitality. I have much to say about staying here, but the most significant for me was the comfortable bed, shower, aircon and meals. Beautiful location and accessible to everything.
