A perfect house for a family in Tzfat
My wife, our two sons (8 and 6 years old) and me stayed for a week in this beautiful house during the week of Lag Baomer 2014. It is a much better option than being in a hotel. We had more room, a wonderful kosher kitchen where we could cook and video-games for the children. It is very near to a supermarket, the restaurants, and all the synagogues. We definitely want to stay here again when we come back to the magical city of Tzfat.

A Magical house in a Magical city
My wife and I together with married son and spouse spent an enchanted weekend in this incredible house. It’s hundreds of years old, and so the city’s history followed us right into our accommodation. We spent much of our time in the huge kitchen/dining room and salon with their high domed ceilings – with every modern amenity you could ask for. The furniture, the décor, the fireplace (not needed in the hot summer!) are just so elegant, and blend together. There’s a wonderful courtyard, where we had early morning coffee in absolute peace and quiet. Our beds were comfortable, everything scrupulously clean, from linens to floors… The house is located in the old part of the town, very close to the old synagogues, artist quarter and quaint streets. If its available – we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Tzfat!

Over the top stunning
This is an enchanted 500 year old property that has been refurbished to the highest 21st century standards. So cool and so Tzfat. Huge high ceilings, tons of space, luxury kitchen, stunning furniture, amazing views, great air. And right in the heart of the artists colony of Tzfat near the synagogues, Ari mikve, and restaurants. I can't imagine a nicer experience in Tzfat.

Perfect
We have stayed in several holiday lettings but this one is by far the best. It is an ideal location for visiting the artist's colony. The entire house is clean, spacious and inviting, not to mention the beautiful cathedral ceilings and large fire place which give the home a wonderful ambiance. In addition, its two patios offer an excellent outdoor retreat. The roof top patio is perfect to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine. We'd go back anytime.

Hope you come back to Villa Tiferet soon. It is true; the house's high stone-domed ceilings are actually breathtaking. They make one feel like royalty. Am also happy you were able to enjoy the roof and patio. Private, quiet and serene, these outdoor retreats are idyllic and a perfect location to unwind on a vacation--this you cannot do at a hotel. Great to hear. Villa Tiferet is definitely centrally located. The stores of the main street are literally steps away, while all the galleries and synagogues are a short walk from the house. You can even hike out the front door and head down into Nahal Amud, one of Israel's most beautiful national parks. We are always happy to help our guests find interesting activities to do. Nicole

Staying at villa tiferet makes you wonder why anyone would stay at a hotel
We had a wonderful time at the beautifully designed villa tiferet. This homey spacious setting allowed us to feel like we were on a unique vacation. Having an entire villa also enabled us to hang out for those extra special moments around the dining room table or around the fire place. Each family member also had their own space, which is certainly needed when family members grow up. All this really makes for a relaxing, real, and bonding family get away.

So happy to hear you had a good time. The house is very spacious so every guest feels as if they can have their own space. This is a big plus for families with older kids and is one of the many benefits of staying in a house as opposed to a hotel. For quiet time, there are many options including cushioned nooks, window seating as well as cozy pillows in the courtyard and hammocks and lounge chairs on the roof! Nicole

Ideal Place to Stay in Tzfat
We stayed in Tzfat for five days as the "preamble" to our son's Bar Mitzvah in Jerusalem. Ten of us stayed in the Villa Tiferet, and we were able to invite additional guests (who were staying in a local bed and breakfast) for the Shabbat meals. The villa turned out to be even more beautiful and magnificent than what we anticipated from the photos. The gorgeous kosher kitchen was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed (meat and dairy dishes, pots, etc.) to prepare our meals. Sitting down to meals in the very grand dining area - with its high arched stone walls- was a truly wonderful experience. The attention to detail in this well-appointed home is obvious everywhere. The bedrooms all had very comfortable beds and bedding, and there were plenty of towels, toiletries, and everything we could possibly need in the beautiful modern bathrooms. When we arrived at the villa, we were welcomed by the Zehavi family, the owners' neighbors and friends - who graciously showed us through all the rooms and answered all our questions. They took the time to show us everything we needed to know about the house, and also left us written instructions on how to find or work anything we needed - as well as their cell phone numbers! So we ended up with both a magnificent home - and magnificent neighbors. Danny Zehavi also led us on some beautiful hikes in the area and gave us lots of great recommendations throughout our stay in Tzfat. We ended up meeting lots of great people, hiking beautiful trails and enjoying great vistas, and getting a real taste for Tzfat and its environs. When the time came to leave to continue on to Jerusalem, we all felt that we were leaving a part of ourselves in Tzfat. We definitely would return to Villa Tiferet on any future trip to Tzfat; it would feel like returning home.

So happy you came to Safed as part of your son's bar mitzvah trip. There is so much for families to do in Tsfat and around the area, especially if they are outdoor enthusiasts like your families! The Zehavis are wonderful; they give such special attention to each family, guests feel like they are part of the community (and this is the magic of staying in a home as opposed to a hotel). We took your comment about the place being more impressive than the photos and did a recent photo shoot. I now feel like the photos tell the real story! Thanks so much for your feedback.

Amazing weekend
My husband and I stayed at Villa Tiferet for a long weekend with some friends. We loved it. The villa is very sapcious. It has a beautiful big kosher kitchen fully equiped, a big dining room that can seat many and a really cozy living area by a good old fireplace. All three have very high ceilings of natural stone. There are also four bedrooms of which we used three. Two had an en suite. The roof had an amazing view that we enjoyed at sunset but you can eat a meal there and enjoy it even more. They had games and books to entertain a whole family.. we only used the dvd selection. Every little detail was tought of and beautifully designed and furnished. I especially loved the light fixtures. And of course lots of the Tzfat blue that makes sure you keep in the spirit of Tzfat. For us it was very romantic and relaxing. The villa is located a two minute walk from lots of cafes and shops. We especially enjoyed having breakfast in the heart of the artist quarter by the multiple studios you can find in Tzfat. We absolutely reccomend Villa Tiferet. Please note that there are many steps in Tzfat. Some in the Villa itself, but mainly through the city.

So happy to hear you had a great time. Vill Tiferet can be a real romantic getaway for couples. Glad you spent time on the roof to enjoy the sunset. This is one of the best features of the house and people often don't take time to watch the incredible colors from the rooftop. On summer nights, you can also see shooting stars! Nicole

Powerful
Tzfat itself is an amazing place. Full of unknown and amazing alleyways it's like being in an enchanted maze, each turn leading you into another world. Whether going to the Artists Colony, walking by the historic monuments from the War of Independence, being swept away by the view or treking on an awesome hike near by, it was only possible thanks to our stay at the Villa Tifferet. Not only was it close to everything, in and of itself it reflected the amazing atmosphere. Being an ancient yet renovated place it was not only comfortable and pleasant but special. Looking at the structure of the walls inside was an art experience on it's own. The view from their roof is breathtaking. The rooms were nice and spacious. All in all an awesome experience!

So glad you loved the historical aspect of Safed. It is an trip back in time just to wander along the ancient cobbled alleys. And staying at Villa Tiferet accentuates this history. Hope you noticed the old rings high up on the walls in the dining room. These were once used to raise and lower oil lamps!
