This uniqe ,completly renovated,fully equipped studio app with private terrace on the sea , is a romantic place on the east side of the historic fortres Kaštilac from the 16th century in Kaštel Gomilica .
The fortres Kaštilac was a part of Game of Thrones in the season 5 ,when Arya makes a stop in the Free city of Bravos.
The apartment offers an enviroment of centuries old stone walls of the interior with a Mediterranean atmospher and all modern neads as well,as flet screen TV ,wireles internet ,fully equipped kitchen ,bathroom with a shower etc.
The real life takes place on the private terace on the sea ,where you will enjoy your unique privace with the wiev to the sea ,ACI marina and Split.

lovely and quite amazing views
we had great weather and the apartment was beautiful with everything that you need nearby. The transport connections airport/Split/Trogir are cheap and excellent. the best part of the apartment is the outdoor area we just sat and sunbathed and read books listening to the ripples of the sea. However we lost the sun at apprx 2pm due to the sun going over the fortress. Iris was a great host and the panoramic views were amazing. Apartment was clean and really well renovated. its very very peaceful. Trip advisor stated it was £43 a night however by the time I paid the deposit and final balance it was £52 a night.

an interesting property,history and ambience
The owners were kind and accommodating. The property a juxtaposition of medieval and 21st century interior. A pleasant and private outdoor space that juts out into the sea. Right next to the beach and harbour, shops and bus stop, which goes to the airport and the old city of trogir.

Feed Your Soul...
What can I say... As a Game of Thrones fan I saw this rental and couldn't resist, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined it would be so fantastic! You literally walk out of your door onto your own private terrace on the crystal clear Adriatic. Sit and sunbathe whilst watching the yacht traffic, watch the local children diving into the sea at the nearby beach, get up at 4am and watch the sun rise, get a lilo float around your terrace, hire a boat drive out to the islands, buy some fishing lines sit drinking beer in the evening and catching fish and watching the swallow aerobatics... You are able to experience the local Croatian culture, this is definitely not for people who like to have their holiday all inclusive with entertainment on tap, it is total escapism! The apartment is unique, clean modern and has everything you need, yet walk out of the door into a medieval maze of alleys and cross the bridge into the village (great pizza takeaway just off the bridge and bar Mexico to have a drink with the local) catch the number 37 bus into Split or Trogir and onward from there to explore the delights of the Dalmatian Coast. Go, go now! You won't regret it, wish I could get on the plane right now. As for our hosts Vedran and Iris, they took great pains to make sure we had every bit of information to enjoy our stay, their communication is second to none! I felt privileged and blessed to have met them and we will certainly be going back to Croatia and they will be my first port of call.

Beautiful place to stay!
This apartment has everything you could wish for in a holiday for two. I cannot express how stunning the view is, it's gorgeous!
Iris and her husband,Vedran, were extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly.
I would highly recommend this apartment to anybody! 😊

Magical place
This is a magical little studio with a good sized private patio sticking out into the sea. You wake up in the morning and open the door to the sound of waves lapping against the patio. Great place to relax. Very helpful owner.

Fortress on the Sea.
The studio at Kastelac, Kastel Gomilica near Split is simply beautiful. It has everything there that you could want for a quiet and relaxing holiday. You feel surrounded by history in this 15th century fortress and the sea is a few feet from your back door. Having breakfast on this terrace in the sunshine and watching boats sailing towards the islands was my perfect way to start the day. The decor of the studio is modern and light and well furnished. Iris met us as we arrived and gave us valuable information about the area. The 37 bus was brilliant as was the restaurant just along the coast. We will be returning.

Perfection!
The location of the apartment is fantastic, being right on the sea. It is quiet, private, and the apartment is modern, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Access is via a walkway into the Fortress from the village of Kastel Gomilica. The private terrace is great and has fantastic views. It is perfect for sun bathing.
The owners, Iris and Verdan, are charming people and are a delight to talk to. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are easily contactable. The village is very friendly and feels particularly safe, particularly for children. Beaches are a short walk away.
There are two small bars close to the Fortress and an excellent supermarket, a fast food restaurant, and the bus stop are about 150 to 200m away. The fast food restaurant (Zeus) is worth a special mention as the owners, Ljilja and Tomislav, are very helpful and the good range of food is freshly cooked and delicious (this is not the 'fast food' that you normally expect). Prices are very good too. The food is either 'take away' or there are some tables at the front which can be used.
Other restaurants are between 600m and 1.5km away.
The bus service is excellent and the 37 service runs every 20 minutes from the early hours to late at night. The fare to either Split or Trogir is 13 kuna per person. The buses can be very crowded at times even in the early afternoon. The bus to Split actually goes to a bus station to the North of the City Centre( and not to the one close to the port). The walk down to the Diocletion Palace area will take 20 to 30 minutes. The 37 also stops at Split Airport but the bus stop there is well away from the terminal building and would be quite a trek with heavy cases. I would recommend prebooking a taxi through Croatia Transfer to and from the airport. This will give you a hassle free, quick journey to the walkway at the Fortress.
Trogir in not particularly well known but is a delightful town with a beautiful promenade and water front. The cobbled streets in the old town are traffic free (as they are so narrow) and are really charming. There is good shopping and many good restaurants there too.

Relaxing Fortress with amazing Host
Before arrival our host was very informative and prompt to any querys we had. The apartment was as the pictures show beautiful, stunning, very clean and comfortable. It was a 5min walk to beaches, supermarkets and restaurants. Everything was within a 10min walk. The bus provided us easy access to Split and Torgir. The airport was 7km away. All our questions were answered promptly by Iris and Vedran, who were truly amazing hosts. The prime location and amazing hosts made our trip. This was our first visit to Croatia and we will definitely be back.

This is a wonderful place to stay, the fortress on the sea. We really enjoyed our time. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped and situated right on the Adriatic sea. It is possible to swim off the patio area, although the water gets deep quickly. Iris, the owner and her husband couldn't have been more helpful. She gave great advice on possible trips and sightseeing ,and helped us to find our way around. The fortress is situated in Kastela about 15 minute bus ride from Split in one direction and 15 minutes from Trogira in the other direction. The bus is cheap and reliable.
This was a great area to stay in with caffe bars and supermarkets and some restaurants near by. We would highly recommend this apartment as a place to stay.
