First, to establish our bonafides, we have rented apartments, each multiple times, in the US, UK, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Israel, the Netherlands, Greece, Austria, and Japan. This apartment was among the very best.
The kitchen was well-equipped, with a large refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of working space. The utensil drawer was well-equipped (at least for dairy; we did not use the kitchen for meat.) The beds were extraordinarily comfortable, and the working space at the dining//kitchen table was easily sufficient for two laptops plus dinner. The living room was very spacious, and even though we were in the apartment in December, the weather was appropriate to use the lovely meerpesset (balcony). The heating system operated very well, and the apartment is on a dead-end street, so there was very little noise from traffic. Overall, the apartment and check-in procedure get an A+.
But be aware of the location. The VRBO map showed that the apartment is located in Old Katamon, near the president's house. It turns out that it is actually located around 2 km away in the Baka neighborhood. This was not a problem for us, since we know both neighborhoods very well and, truth be told, Baka is much less hilly and easier to navigate on foot than Old Katamon. Both neighborhoods are charming, with even more restaurant and transportation amenities in Baka than in Katamon. But if you must stay in Katamon, this is not the place for you. I hope the map in the listing can be corrected soon.
Bottom line: We definitely will try to stay in this apartment the next time we are in Jerusalem.
