About the neighbourhood
Laggan is situated in the South West of the Cairngorms National Park and provides ample opportunities for exploring the local countryside. It is also an excellent base for touring by car, taking in the rest of the National Park or travelling further afield to Glencoe, Loch Ness and the West coast of Scotland, including Skye.
Getting around
Laggan is located in the Cairngorm National Park. As such I would highly recommend having a car to get around and see the local area. There are train services to Newtonmore & Kingussie, however there are no onward local bus or taxi services from there to Laggan. You can get to Laggan by train by going to Kingussie or Newtonmore – both are on the main route for all trains travelling to Inverness. There is a direct service from Edinburgh stopping at these stations every 3 hours and another service every 1.5 hours with one change. There are very limited bus services in the local area because of the rural location and so if you have anyone in your group arriving by train, they would need to be picked up from the station.
