A Great Hideaway
This was my third stay in Dalavich. This really is an escapist holiday as Dalavich is quite remote and surrounded by lochs and forest. So be prepared to give up the trappings of urban life! The nearest shops are a forty minute drive away. The local bar, run by the community, only opens from Thursday to Sunday. A small local shop and cafe can provide essentials, but otherwise you're all alone, and that's the beauty of the place. Wonderful walks and views all around. The cabin is well equipped and everything works. The wood burner is a cosy must on winter nights. It's all very rustic. My dog loved it!

Incredible place for peace & quiet
We stayed here for a week, in fact still here while writing this it is that good. The Loch is incredible and peaceful. Tried fishing but caught nothing (first time fishing) probably wasn't doing it right. 2 mile walk to Loch Avich, some walks are closed due to the water hydro project. People in the village shop are lovely and very helpful. The roads in are single track but little to no traffic. Beware of potholes. Oban and Crinan a short drive away. The cabin is very warm, on arrival it was cold. Kick in the electric heaters & the wood burner, and you will be on the couch with wine in hand in no time. Pots, pans, cutlery, glasses, bedding, plates all here. Just missing a can opener. There is no phone signal, which is a blessing. There is wifi but we hardly used it. Electric oven is ok to use, just takes a while to heat up. Great for couples and small family. If you have a dog beware of the ticks and check your dog each night. If I could I would move here, great for switching off and recharging the batteries. We will be back 👍👏👏👏 P.S - We got engaged here, that's how amazing this place is.

What a place!
I decided to take my family away for a quiet Christmas. Best decision i ever made. Booking was easy with all the information i needed sent by return E-Mail. The owner was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly. The cabin was clean with everything you could have needed to begin your holiday right away. The log burner was great when i could get to it past the dog. I would and have recomended this cabin to my extended family. It is very much off the beaten track but that is exactly what i was after. Stunning scenery EVERYWHERE and friendly locals. Cant wait to go back

Wonderful location, well equipped, comfy cabin.
Breathtaking location, encapsulates the Scottish Highlands being on the shores of a loch with misty hills surrounding you. Cabin was lovely and well equipped, Irene was friendly and welcoming. The only thing we though could be improved slightly was just making finite details with your guests as to who was arriving, sleeping arrangements etc as we did have to make up one of the beds after an 11 hour journey ( not taking away anything from the preparation of the cabin but this was a little niggle.) Running cottages myself, a basic arrival pack/even tea tray with milk etc would be greatly appreciated as cabin is far from amenities for evening arrivals. Lovely village shop to get essentials during the day with friendly locals Easy booking process, especially as we changed dates. Would thoroughly recommend.

Property good, a bit far from main routes
Weather tended to be poor around Loch Awe whilst we were there, but much better when we travelled to the coast. Didn’t bother me but daughter unhappy there was no signal - 10min drive

Great Cabin very comfy
A very Spacious cabin well laid out, comfy bed, comfy seats, nice decking area to sit out on.Only one complaint and not a bad one, because the weather was so good during our stay and very sunny the roof was making some queer sounds we thought it was squirrels at first but it was only the sun expanding the metal clad roof and when the sun went away it contracted back and apart from that everything else was just great. Lovely cabin in beautiful setting
This was our 3rd stay and we couldn't have had a better time. We have been that impressed by our previous stays that we have booked this cabin for both of our parents as a Christmas present. It is like a home from home and has everything you could possibly need during your stay. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable cabin holiday
We had a lovely stay, few issues with water leaking in through patio doors but could have been to do with stormy weather. Beds uncomfortable and also a stain on one bed mattress which was a bit unpleasant, Otherwise the surroundings were amazing, the cabin was lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

About the neighbourhood
This unique location was created by the forestry commission as a place of tranquillity, amid outstanding scenery. In addition to the peace and quiet of the log cabin locations the surrounding area provides an amazing natural playground with forests, burns, rivers, castles, mountains and lochs to explore and enjoy. The area has a proliferation of walks, cycle routes and local attractions, has an abundance of wildlife and is a world renowned destination for anglers. Many visitors are captivated by the area, as we were, and return time and again to the shores of Loch Awe. We hope that you too will visit our highland hideaway and enjoy our log cabins and the natural wonders of this unspoiled part of Scotland.
