Casa Amora (Blackberry Cottage) is set in the hills of the Northern Algarve. Though in a peaceful, rural position it is possible to be in the village of Sao Marcos da Serra in a few minutes, or on a beach in 1/2 hour. The historical town of Silves is a short drive as is the mountain town of Monchique. The world class surf beaches of the west coast are just over an hour away.
The quiet location makes it great for walking, artists, writers, bird watching or just getting away from it all and relaxing in the countryside.
The spacious living/kitchen area has a large woodburner and there is double glazing throughout, the mud walls and traditional high ceilings of eucalyptus and pine make it cool in summer, so ideal for holidaying all year round.

Some very good friends now take care of the property as we do not live nearby. They will visit in the first day or two if needed to show you how things work and are always just a phone call away should you have any problems.

There is a train station in Sao Marcos Da Serra with a limited timetable. The station in Sao Bartolomeu de Messines had lines to Lisboa, Faro and along the coast. Lisboa is possible to visit on a day trip, there is an excellent aquarium and science museum, also shopping, restaurants and nightlife if you'd like to add in an overnight stay to your holiday.
