Holiday Rental House
It is a modern semi-detached single storey house with access to the roof. It has tiled floors and mosquito proof secure windows. All rooms are air conditioned. This is at extra cost to guests. It is surrounded by traditional African houses and is located near the rice fields and the river. Banana and paw paw trees surround the house. It is only a short walk to the market and main street with local traders, and tailors who can make an African shirt or dress in a day. Friendly neighbourhood and always interesting to watch local activities. Two local ladies cook delicious Senegalese cuisine as well as clean the house and do washing, if required. Breakfast included and midday and evening meals can be arranged at a cost of 6 GB pounds. The local language is Jola and the greeting is 'Kassumay' (Peace) (Pronounced 'Kassu-my') They will reply 'Kassumay bally' (Only peace)More

What a great place!

Some friends and I stayed here during spring break 2018. What a beautiful house! very clean, spacious, lots of room on the roof, air conditioning, nice neighborhood, secure. Not missing a thing. The cook was wonderful. This is a great spot from which to explore...More

How to get there
From the UK fly with Thomas Cook from Manchester or London Gatwick to Banjul, The Gambia. From there we can arrange for you to be met by our brother in a chauffeur driven car. The cost if a return journey is around £160. The journey to Ziguinchor, capital of the Casamance Region, takes around 3 hours with stops at the Gambia Senegal border and Customs post. Local curreny, the CFA franc, can be withdrawn at bank cash points in Ziguinchor. From Ziguinchor to Oussouye it takes about 40 minutes. From Oussouye to the Atlantic coast is about 30 minutes by car which you can arrange at the local garage.
