The beaches at La Ribera are approximately 3 miles in length. There is an abundance of water sports including, water skiing, wind surfing, diving and fishing.
La Ribera has an excellent choice of bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours. Food ranges from Chinese, Italian, Indian to traditional spanish tapas and asador. The town and promenade are bustling on a summers evening with people of all ages.
Weekly street market offering everything you could wish for.
There is plenty to do and see away from the beach with local cities Cartagena and Murcia both well recommended.

Lovely apartment
We stayed here for a week at the end of May. The apartment was spotless, had everything we needed, and Mark who manages the apartment was really helpful. The pool is right outside the back door and the kids spent most of the week playing in it. Thanks for the welcome pack which meant we didn't have to rush out to the supermarket when we arrived on Saturday evening. Lidl & Aldi are about 1km walk away. There's a shop next to Aldi which is a bit like B&M bargains and sells everything you need for your holiday so do don't worry if you forget to pack something. Stop at the caravan park cafe on the way to or from the shops for a drink or food which is excellent - we ate there most days. The local market on a Wednesday is well worth a visit. We can also recommend the Go Kart track near the airport which the kids loved. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

About the neighbourhood
Santiago de la Ribera is a small traditional holiday resort much favored by Spanish families for their summer vacation. The town is situated on the shores of the Mar Menor (small sea)-- Europe's largest salt water lagoon. The beaches are excellent and the waters of the Mar Menor are shallow and tidal free offering safe bathing for all.
As the sun goes down why not join the locals at one of the any bars for a cool glass of vino and tapas. If you want something more substantial then there is an excellent array of restaurants offering a range of food from spanish, italian, chinese and indian.
Getting around
There are good bus route connections to the neighbouring towns. Plus regular services to Murcia City, Cartagena and Alicante.
The area is relatively flat making cycling and walking a good way of getting around.
