Choose from wildlife parks, adrenalin-packed activities, events galore, pristine beaches, countless walks and wonderful gardens at their freshest! Just down the hill, the popular Cornish seaside village of Downderry has good local day-to-day facilities with a general store, Post Office, a traditional inn with lovely sea views and Nick Barclay's Blue Plate restaurant. There are many beaches around – take a short stroll down to Downderry beach which is a Marine Conservation Society recommended part shingle, part sand beach with numerous rock pools at low tide. The nearby Whitsand Bay is a vast 4 mile stretch of sandy beach. Dogs are permitted all year on both beaches. Should you fancy some stunning scenery, the South West Coast Path is five minutes' walk away. From here, the beautiful coastline is waiting to be explored with nearby Seaton, Looe and Talland Bay leading onto the 13th Century fishing village of Polperro. Wander round the picturesque historic fishing villages of Looe and Polperro and the maritime city of Plymouth all with 15 - 30 minutes' drive. Just a few miles away you'll find the wild wonders of Bodmin Moor, made famous by Daphne du Maurier's Jamaica Inn. Or feed your garden frenzy at the many wonderful houses and gardens including the nearby Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park which provides 800 acres of unspoilt walking and leisure opportunities. Looe Island View is also the perfect starting point from which to explore some of the world famous attractions in Cornwall such as the Eden Project and Lanhydrock House and Garden. Good leisure sporting facilities are within easy reach including the 18 hole coastal golf courses of Looe and Whitsand Bay which also boasts an impressive pool, sauna and restaurant. Eight of us have just spent the easter weekend here. A very well appointed house with everything you need. Bedlinen and towels are provided and a lovely hamper too. The views from the house are absolutely fantastic but consequently the roads up to the house...More
