I needed accommodation a quick one night stay. I saw "Sea Shanty" and that it was hosted by Jethro - we had only just returned from a great 4 night stay at "Trade Winds" - "Sea Shanty" is right next door. The property is compact "island style". Another lovely stay at Sea Shanty. The house is quaint, clean and just a short walk away from the beach. It has everything you need and Jethro is a gracious and responsive host. We’ll be back!

Everything was as described and I enjoyed my stay. It’s a short walk to the best beach and the decks are perfect for hanging out and staring at the night sky (bring a telescope if you’re into star gazing) This is a good place to unplug (don’t expect constant reliable internet.. it comes and goes in this particular area ) 5 stars ! Host was great offered pool next door since no guest was there. I will keep Sea Shanty on the top of my list of places to stay when on the island .

Sea Shanty was the perfect home base for my husband and me during our first trip to Eleuthera. It's close to Governor's Harbor and steps from the prettiest beach we've ever seen. You walk down a wooded path for about 3 minutes to get to the beach, and it's gorgeous and very private. The home is super clean and perfectly appointed. We cooked two nights and went out the other three. Try Tippy's, which you can walk to on the beach. Jethro was so helpful and accommodating. I really did not want to leave! Highly recommend this home. Also, Laura and her husband Bill were wonderfully helpful with car rental and general questions about the island. Thank you all!

This is my second time staying at Sea Shanty! I love the privacy the landscaping affords and how it’s such an easy walk to the beach. It’s really got everything you need for two people. You can easily zip around to all parts of Governor’s Harbor. Jethro was amazingly quick to respond and so accommodating. Anticipate I’ll be back again!

Sea Shanty is a convenient property close to eateries/cafes and Governor’s Harbor - 3-10 minutes car drive. The cottage is private. Owner had complimentary condiments, ice and basic swim gear in place. Nice bed and TV with Netflix etc.,.

The cottage was just perfect. Nice patio and roof deck with a really comfy couch. Comfy king size bed. Upstairs and downstairs has very nice a/c. Tv with Netflix. Jethro answered all of our questions and our time there was just amazing!

We loved our stay at the sea shanty! The space is very clean, and has a light, airy feel that makes it feel bigger than it is. It is beautifully decorated with a lot of really unique and creative touches. Extremely private and the beach was one of the best we visited on our 10 days on the island. My only suggestion would be a mirror in the bedroom to make getting ready easier for two people. Jethro was very responsive and easy to work with and we’d love to return.

This property is great for two people! Very private and close to the beach. View was awesome from the decks. But need a car for everything else. We loved it! And will be back.

Great place for 2 people that don’t require a lot of amenities. Very functional and charming…the bed was great!!! Nice water pressure and hot water for the shower. The 2nd floor deck was perfect for enjoying stars and the Bahama breeze! A beautiful stretch of beach right across the street. The only Thing that was a little bit annoying is ants that appeared every time anything was left out, including in the garbage, but the house is surrounded by trees and foliage so I suppose that is to be expected. There was also some water leakage into the house when it rained but nothing that stopped us from enjoying our stay. The owner was available to help us sort out a power outage, which was no fault of his. He’s very prompt in replying and very nice to work with. We would stay here again as we enjoyed the charm and perfect location of the sea shanty!
