We enjoyed our visit immensely. The property is off the beaten path, so to speak, yet still within 6 minutes drive of excellent dining. The beach and ocean view is world class.

The pictures don't lie. This place is fabulous. Caribbean breeze, private beach, amazing blue water. The people of Eleuthera are so friendly and inviting. I have been to many islands and Vrbos and this place is truly special.

This is the perfect spot to experience Eleuthera. The home has everything you need. It seems like you have the whole Island to your self...virtually no one sharing the miles long beach. The kitchen is well equipped. The Island Farm is nearby to supply delicious produce for an island cooked meal. Plenty of good restaurants nearby for excellent local Bahamian fare. To get a true Carribbean experience spend a week or more at the Desert Rose and fall in love with Eleuthera. You will not want to leave, and will vow to return.

The house and the property are amazing. The pictures do not do it justice! Just be ready for island time when you get there. We stayed for 5 nights. It was not long enough! I can’t even begin to tell you how great the beach Infront of the house was. Get out and snorkel! There is no need to go to the other beaches when you have the best right Infront of you! The host was amazingly responsive. The house was great. You feel like you are in your own little paradise. Restaurants and grocery stores are less then 15 minuets away. We can not wait to come back!

This is a slice of paradise… a gorgeous, clean, private pink sand beach surrounded by palm trees and (yes, surprisingly) pine trees. We spent as many minutes as possible at the tiki hut being lulled by the waves and mesmerized by the shades of turquoise. The house is well appointed, comfortable and has a monster AC in the bedroom. If we visit Eleuthera again we would look forward to returning to desert rose.

Location was first class- beautiful every hour of the day- signage was lacking but the octagonal roof showed clearly on GPS. Cannot overstate how vicious the sand flies are tho- OMG! Also was not prepared for the meal costs- groceries are hard to find and expensive- eating out is about double New York City pricing but was always well done- we enjoyed every meal, just spent twice what we had planned- our own ignorance. If you like privacy and rural, this is the perfect place! Thank you!

The property is everything one would want in terms of cleanliness and tasteful decor. The owners and the manager of the residence were incredibly efficient and hospitable. The house itself is on an enchanting beach and has a location and view that allows for solitude, rejuvenation of one's spirit, and beauty. It is ideally located: far enough from touristy crowds and close enough for a night out or for gathering grocery and provisions. We definitely plan on returning many times to this 'slice of paradise' and have been raving about this gem of a holiday retreat to all our friends.

We absolutely loved staying at the Desert Rose property. The spacing between properties means you will see few, if any, other people on the absolutely beautiful beach. The central Eleuthera location makes it easy to travel to either end of the island. And there are so many amenities- good internet connection and satellite tv, deck surrounding the house, private lower deck with lounge chairs overlooking the beach, and so much more. The pictures don’t really do the property justice, and we would absolutely stay there again.

Staying at the desert rose house was a terrific experience. The house was charming with all the amenities you would expect. We loved the privacy and having an amazing beach all to ourselves. The house was easy to find, and for first timers on Eleuthera, it was surprisingly easy to find our way around. Communication with Barbara was excellent. She provided us with everything we needed to know well in advance and made things as easy as possible. We are looking forward to a return trip!

Can’t express how much me and my wife enjoyed staying at the Rose House in beautiful Eleuthera. We came for the second time to the Bahamas, but first time to the Eleuthera Island. The owners were very accommodating and helpful as well as the manager of the property. From directions, to exploring the island and guiding us to the right people…our trip was perfect. Thank you so much for everything! The property was very beautiful and very relaxing, just what we needed! We look forward in visiting the island again and would definitely stay at the Monticello/ Rose Estate!
